Sebastian raised one of his eyebrows and crossed his arms over his chest. Rain was still a little above her bed as her mouth opened and closed, and opened and closed again. She had been only managing to speak one word, hoping that Sebastian would buy it. But if she knew anything about him, she knew that he could look right through her. Which only meant one thing. She had to die today.
"Why are you standing there?"
It was Reid. His heavy and husky voice, Rain could always recognize it anywhere, but she didn't hope that she would hear it now.
"I am watching your girl do..what was that? The smile hidden in Sebastian's voice made Rain flare her nostrils and glared right at him.
"Hope you liked my video today and will be good at.."
"Planks..she said planks" Rain blew air as she quickly turned off her screen, her head hitting the bed.
"Ow. I guess I need a need to practice more" Rain turned to look at the boys and pasted a smile on her face.
"Are you sure, it's the same one I had to send you?" Reid asked, pushing Sebastian out of his way and approached Rain.
"I don't think the Dwarf was watching the video you send her"
"No no no no no..you are not calling me that"
Rain sat up holding her penguin.
"I agree with Sebastian, this little penguin is spoiling you" Reid sat beside Rain and moved his hand to take the penguin away.
"Nooooooo" Rain yelled as Reid grabbed the penguin in her lap.
While Reid and Rain fought to hold the toy, Rain felt her knees brushing his and gasped, jumping on her feet; making the bed shake and her bra falling over Reid's head.
"Ooh" Sebastian was barely holding his laugh covering his mouth with both of his hands.
"Man, I am so glad about that fire drill. I would have so missed it"
*Click*
"Sebastian" Reid growled and Rain lunged herself forward, grabbing her bra and then quickly hiding it under her bedsheet.
"You are going to die, Kid if you don't delete the pic in 5 4.." Reid had started counting on his finger as Sebastian tapped his pads faster deleting the pic.
"I am not scared of you Man, I just respect you," Sebastian said looking at his phone, reading a message, and keeping his phone back in his jeans.
"Did you just leave someone to read?" Rain asked settling back beside Reid.
"Some girl texted me and well I don't know what to say, and speaking about girls..."
He leaned a little forward almost whispering
"Little Dwarf. I have a question for you"
Rain scowled while putting her hands over her hips.
"What can you tell me about...you know...the cycle?"
"That's my cue to take you away from this perv" Reid grabbed Rain's hand like it was the most natural thing to do, taking her outside the room.
"Are...we going somewhere?" Rain asked without blinking.
"You will see" Reid's eyes twinkled like the most shining star in the dark sky.
This could only mean two things.
Either they were going to talk about cars or were going to do some workout. She had started knowing him more.
Like the way his feet would face hers when they talk; the fact that when they walk together, Reid would always walk with her, not a step forward or back; or when he would lean forward when she was saying something.
She wasn't noticing these things consciously, but the mind was picking up on these things, making her more comfortable around him.
The way he would always hold her hand when they cross the road. She wasn't that stupid but she just wanted to be sure for once. Before she plans to leap, she wants him to take a step towards her.
"Here we are"
So the latter. They were at the gym.
"We are free today and even though you want to practice planks, it could be done on your own. Right now we will practice things which need a partner" He was grinning, like a kid who had won his first trophy or maybe got his favorite car.
*Look in his eyes*
Rain could feel her body trembling as the words popped in her mind. She had never done that, looked in his eyes, she was too shy.
She bit her nail as her chest rose and fell, her heart pounding hard, as she took in the surroundings.
Only him and her.
*Look in his eyes*
This time it was Emma's voice, commanding her.
She was mentally shaking her head, but she wanted to, wanted to look in those blue eyes.
She looked at him through her eyelashes and Reid bit back a growl.
This wasn't the same one she had heard several times when he would get mad at Sebastian, but a different one.
Like that of a hunter when he was going to pounce on his prey.
"Rain" his voice sounded breathy and his pupils looked large.
His throat moved as if he had sucked in a breath.
But with a blink of an eye, it was gone.
He had stepped back again. Rain could feel it.
"Let's start with a punching bag." He took a deep breath and held the punching bag.
"Yeah. I need it now" Rain mumbled grabbing the gloves from the side.
*Don't hit hard*
A voice popped into her mind again. But she decided to ignore it, she wanted to punch hard.
Her gaze settled on Reid as she took the boxing stance, moving one leg behind the other; taking her arm back, and with all the force she could gather she hit the bag
"Ow...the f**ck" Rain screamed and shrugged her hand several times trying to numb the pain she was feeling. Falling on the mat, she grabbed her right hand with her left and yelped again.
Reid rushed to her side and kneeled.
"Are you okay, Angel?"
"In movies..they don't tell, it hurts" Rain clicked her tongue, her face little red.
"Let's avoid the punching bag for this session" He turned towards her and slowly took off her gloves. He released the breath he was holding as he saw that there was no soreness on her hand.
"Now"
Reid moved behind Rain and wrapped her waist with his arms holding her little tight
"Try to get out of my arms"
"Concentrate"
How was he able to think or say anything while holding her, since Rain had forgotten her ability to speak at all. But the longer she would stay like that, the faster her heart will beat and then he will know, he will know how she feels about him. She had to move, but her arms were under his strong hands. She had to use her hips. She tried moving them a little when the warm breath above her ear froze her again.
"You are testing my patience here Angel and I am finding it really hard being a gentleman right now." He growled exhilarated and annoyed "so if you could stop working those hips for a second."
Rain could only nod cause if she said what was in her mind, she knew she would get in trouble.
There was a sudden loss of the warmth around her.
"I...I- am sorry, I need a shower" Reid had released his grasp, his gaze on the ground.
Rain opened her mouth but Reid cut her off
"Let's talk when I am back" He turned back strode towards the restroom, leaving Rain yet again speechless.
