Possibilities

I pass through the portal, feeling saddened by having to leave another brother to die on another battlefield, as these thoughts race through my mind the sound of explosions can be heard from behind me, Iacobus seems to be giving them a hard time and I hope you don't give them, not a single inch because I made a promise to bring you home. The sounds of explosions began to fade away as the portal closed, not making a sound, with my heartbeat almost beginning to make me deaf.

I steered into the darkness around me, unable to see a single thing, not even my hands, closed my eyes to quiet myself, and listened to my surroundings only hearing the ambience of the world around me. not a single soul in proximity of me, this is troubling, I opened my eyes to peer into darkness once more but the world that surround me had changed showing a clear white landscape, I was glad to see myself again as I raised my hands and made fists trying to gauge my mobility. I stood there for a few minutes checking my Auspex and other systems, I am still within optimal levels but I could use some repairs, I ran a few more checks on my armour and weapons, but a single thought ran through my mind once more, I wonder how much I have changed since I entered the warp, I haven't even taken my helmet off since I meet Iacobus, a feeling of pain surged through my chest.

trapped in my thoughts, a door appeared from out of nothingness, the door looked familiar something that you would have seen a thousand times but not noticed. I approached the door with caution and yet a bit of curiosity It has been a while since I have seen something that reminds me of... I placed my hand on the door, it slid open showing a room clouded in dust and a picture, not two or three just one moment captured in time, home. I stepped inside remembering old memories of my past, like when I cleaned and polished my Aquila only to have some servitor try and take it from me or when I had an interview with a remembrancer and she almost passed out seeing my height she told me that she thought I was the Warmaster, I was proud to be a son of Horus Lupercal to even be able to almost be like him, but now I only feel uncertain.

Thoughts raced through my mind like the demons that I fought to get here gnawed at the edge of my sanity, the door shut behind me, and my eyes fixed on the one thing that brought me joy, a photograph of me the Captain and others from the different companies, oh how I miss those days of working together side by side, forcing our enemies down to dust in the wake of our glorious might.

The door opened once again, I turned to face the door, prepared for the friend or foe who stood there, I dropped to a knee in disbelief for what I see before me, is a pleasant surprise for my tired eyes. Horus back when he stood proud and happy with his victories, garbed in his white Terminator armour nicely trimmed with gold, without a speck of dust or damage on it for it has been far too long since I saw him in the white of the Luna wolves. Horus spoke "Come there is much to explain." with authority and kindness in his words I followed but plagued by a million questions and distrust, we came to a place I recognised, the bridge of the Vengeful Spirit, Horus spoke once again "Come my Son, let us not bear weapons but words." Horus smiled at me I acknowledged his words at made myself relax more but even still enough to be ready, Horus noticed my changes but knew my distrust.

Horus turned and faced towards the void of space as the Vengeful Spirit sailed through these dark waters, "You have many questions but It seems to me one stands above all." still facing the void of space, I was surprised that he noticed or figured out that this question, this one stood above all the rest in all regards. I slowly walked closer and spoke with a sad tone but also trying to show respect to the Warmaster, "What happened to you? That caused us to turn against even our own brothers?" The Warmaster, Horus Lupercal one of the deadliest and most charismatic of all his siblings and to me the greatest Primarch to serve in battle and hopefully peace, stood there in silence grasping the rails that he lent on as he paired into the void.

moments later the rails began to contort and bend as the Warmaster's fist squeezed the life out of them, he spoke with a hint of anger with every word, "I was betrayed!" as the words passed through me like a wave, I felt my very soul rattle and almost crack, my Primarch, my father betrayed? I knelt on the cold floor and looked up, "Who betrayed you?" Horus turned to me showing his rage left behind on the poor rails, "On Davin when I was wounded by that accursed blade was when my senses began to warp and change against my will, allowing others who were already succumbed to trickery and false promises, began to plague mind with false visions of the future and ultimately my senses were ones to betray me and go against my father... The Emporer." I am speechless, to hear from the Warmaster himself that his judgement was clouded by others and his thoughts, is truly a horrifying thing to hear.

Horus came closer to me, putting his hand on my shoulder, "Rise, my son, for I have a mission for you and this will be my last act as the Imperium's Warmaster, but first I have four gifts for you, that you will need for what is to come, the first is a ship, The Emporer created these ships for his Primarchs to do campaigns and to protect his sons for when he wasn't there, I commissioned another of its kind to built for our Legion, should it be brought low and need sanctuary, this ship would be the beginning of their enemies end. But before I go on please remove your helm." I did as I was instructed, I unhooked my helmet from my armour hearing the slight hiss of pressure realised from it and placed it under my arm. Horus stood back up getting a better look at me, "I am glad you can still grow hair, I was worried that some part of my genes made my son's go bald but let's move on to more important matters this is my second gift." I rose with him and he then passed me a letter that was stained by age but still bore a symbol on the wax that kept it closed but I can't make it out right now.

"Titerus can you promise me one thing but I warn you this may be too selfish of me to ask." I stood proud before him, "What is your word Warmaster!" unmoving in my resolve and now my heart. Horus smiled for a second then spoke, "I would ask you to help those lost to false promises, to those who forgot what they fought for and for those who are trapped in a cycle that won't end. Can you Promise me that before I give you this next reward?" I spoke but a single word, "Yes." that was all that was needed because now I understand what happened better, my people, my brothers were lied to. Horus gave me a firm nod, " I will ask you one last time to kneel." I immediately knelt on the floor and was surprised that I didn't make a hole in it. Horus spoke once more, " In the powers given to me by The master of mankind, The Emporer himself, I Horus Lupercal, Warmaster and Primarch of the XVIth Legion, I hereby make you Chapter Master of the Luna Wolves!" This is the proudest moment of my life, the words I hear spoken by the Warmaster has caused me to fall into disbelief of this new station and responsibilities.

Horus spoke once more " Go back to the world where this all started, there you should find a lost soul who needs help and there you should find my last gift to you." I stood up once more feeling better and stronger in myself, but one thing before I go, "Warmaster I have but one last question before I leave, where did these new powers I possess come from?" Horus looked at me with a hard steer as I felt my mind slowly slip into darkness once more, "It seems you have been given a fifth gift but not from me, goodbye my son." as darkness came too close my vision, I spoke these last words, "Goodbye father."
