Chapter 97: Tying Up Loose Ends

The daze she’d been in since she’d seen Blade fall to his death was beginning to fade away as Ellie took River’s hand and went to her office to meet with the other Alphas. It had all happened so quickly, she still needed time to process it.

In her mind, she kept going over what she could have done differently. Maybe if she hadn’t bitten him so hard, he wouldn’t have acted so callously and tried to clear that gorge. Maybe she should’ve stayed on top of him until they could take him into custody. Maybe she should’ve tried to stop him when he went running toward the gorge.

She could come up with a million things she could’ve done differently, but it had played out the way that it did. And there was nothing she could do about it now. So… she may as well get her head back in the game and pay attention because they had an entire pack to deal with now, one without an Alpha, one that would be needing direction, and possibly discipline.
