Wait

The sky started to grow dimmer, the air intended to become even more cold as night was getting closer; disappearing dusk .Merry was sitting near the window, waiting for Max to return back. She knew that he already got the clue that she was pissed by his behaviour but still ,she was desperate to talk .

Knock! Knock!

A sudden knock on the door was heard.

"My lady it's me, Robert."

"Oh..please come in."

"My lady is there something bothering you?" Robert asked with concernment and a bit of hesitation.

"No...t-there is nothing.." Merry voice was calm.Robert understood that she was hiding something but he did not want to insist.

"I'm glad..So, are you going to attend the ceremony being held today? " He asked

"Ceremony? "

"Yes my lady, because today is our last stay here so, it would be fun to join and you won't get bored too." Robert told her expectingly.

"Also, it's being held everyday but you only attended it once."

"But g-going alone...Max is s-still busy." Merry replied with low tone.

"Commander told me that he would join you afterwards if you agreed and if you don't mind I would be your escort. " Robert spoke politely with a smile.

"Ofcourse. T-Thank you Robert." Merry's eyes sparked up.

"It's my pleasure my lady." Robert was delighted to see Merry's face light up.

'I don't know what is bothering my ladyship but from the morning, she appears to be stressed and also bored..Maybe Commander has done something..hmm..I guess I have to ask sir Frederick to teach him how to treat a woman properly...hmmm.'

Throughout the day, while guarding Merry, Robert was concerned about her being upset and targeting none other than Max.

"Why are you all asking me the same question?" Max asked with confused tone.

"Because it seems commander you have done something to upset the ladyship." Frederick affirmed.Meanwhile, Robert nodding in agreement.

"I am trying to upset her... it's for her own good." Max lowered his voice and sounded like a mature guardian.

"How come it is good for her ladyship?" Frederick enquired raising his eyebrow.

"It's personal Frederick....and the problem is me and nothing else...so.. give me some time." Max replied calmly while cleaning his sword.

Frederick sighed and stepped back as it appeared it wouldn't do any good to ask further.

"Who is guarding Merry right now?" Max asked fittingly.

"Dready is with her ladyship at this moment." Robert spoke.

"Then after half an hour ,escort Merry to the ceremony and I will join after this official affixing meeting." Max affirmed looking at the moon.

"Commander, are you really going to negotiate with them?" Frederick asked looking a bit uncertain.

"We have to..but" Max looked at Frederick and spoke.

"I believe you Commander, you won't take any unwise decision and even if it turns to be wrong,I will be willing to stay by your side." Frederick assured Max with a gentle smile.

"Hey! Me too! Me too! " Robert exclaimed while raising his hand to be noticed.

"Huh? Ha ha ha" Max and Frederick laughed at him.For Max they were more than his brothers. Not to even compare with his brother.

"We also have to leave tomorrow early in the morning so be prepared." Max told.Both nodded.
