Their First Encounter

"W—welcome. Th—hope you'll feel at home here," A woman, who appeared to be human, greeted Erithea in a stuttering voice. She was in a cave-like house dug into a cliff. Erithea could see the furniture wasn't very clean. Almost all the cutlery and water jugs were plastered with dry earth.

Erithea was locked with two women there. It seems the Satyrs who kidnapped her only married human women. Erithea was probably the first female Titan to enter the house. She didn't like narrow ceilings and a humid atmosphere. In fact she didn't like everything she saw there.

She hated the thought that she would be married to a satyr. Erithea didn't see any children there. Looks like a satyr couldn't have children with a titan or a human. They also had female satyrs on Olympus but Erithea had yet to meet any of them.

When the satyr had forced her to enter his house, she saw several other satyrs who were all men outside. They glared at Erithea and complained how their brother could find a woman as good as her. Erithea was feeling very unlucky. Of all the problems she could encounter on Olympus, meeting a Satyr was the worst.

That said, the population of female satyrs was not much. Because of that they kidnapped the women who happened to be passing through their territory.

"A—are you thirsty? Are you hungry?" The woman who was probably nearing thirty asked her cautiously. She had probably been in the satyr's lair for a long time. Her body reeked from wearing shabby clothes. She carried a jar of clean water in her hand. Erithea could see the strands of her hair coming loose and a few of them dipping into the water. Erithea just smiled and shook her head at her.

Erithea looked at another angle. There was another woman with her hair in a bun sitting unconcerned with her eyes staring out the window.

"You guys never get out of here?" Erithea asked in a concerned tone.

"W—we are the wives of lord Silas, we can't leave the house. Because of that, I—I hope we can be friends. B—because Megan doesn't want to talk anymore," the woman said, still stuttering.

The woman in the bun was apparently named Megan. Erithea could see that her eyes were empty. She had lost her will to live. In Silas's house she did not see any sharp objects or knives. These women never cook. Or maybe Silas was worried they might kill themselves.

"Why don't you guys just run? If you two work together—"

"No, T—this is for the best. W—we humans won't be able to get out of O—olympus," said the woman again in a sad tone.

"Oh, I'm sorry,"

Erithea certainly knew the rules that had been in place for thousands of years. No humans could enter or leave the Olympian residence area. If those women did manage to escape Silas—they would be devoured by the monster Olympus.

"Si—Silas is our protector. He—he guarded us from mountain monsters and wolves," said the woman again in a grateful tone.

Erithea realized, they probably purposely covered their bodies with dirt and wore clothes that smelled bad. Maybe they wanted to disguise their smell so no monsters could smell it. Then Silas could keep them captive forever. Erithea couldn't believe that they married Silas willingly. There was no way any human would want to marry a satyr.

Erithea don't judge a person by their physique. She knows mostly satyr was ugly. But their nature was no less annoying. There were some of them who were quite civilized and usually they became reliable followers of the princes on Olympus.

But the rest, scattered on Olympus and living like wild animals or mountain men without civilization. Erithea initially felt sorry for the fate of the satyrs. But now when a satyr slapped her and forced her to become his wife—Erithea could no longer sympathize. If they were civilized, Erithea would respect them. But for a satyr like Silas—Erithea would hate him.

The girl checked the doors and windows. All tightly closed. Silas left immediately when he confirmed he had locked his victims in his home. Therefore, Erithea had to try to escape before he came. She peeked through the hole in the door, it was deserted outside.

Unlike the human women she was in the same room with right now—Erithea was a titan. She certainly wasn't too innocent to leave the Northern Forest unprotected.

Titan, was a race from another planet that has technology far beyond humans today. As a princess who had been kidnapped several times— Kairos gave her something so she could protect herself.

The hair ornament she wore was made of gold and silver in the shape of a small butterfly. Erithea pulled it gently and placed it in her hands. When the girl blew it, the hair ornament moved and flapped its wings.

Even though it was in the shape of a butterfly, it flies like a bee moving its wings fast enough to make a buzzing sound.

She simply whispered to it and gave it the order to kill Silas. But the girl hesitated. Did she have the right to take the satyr's life? Would the rulers of Olympus punish her for this? Or should she wait for Silas to do something bad to her before attacking? So that she could say she was defending herself?

"My wife!" Silas suddenly opened the door. Erithea shaking. She didn't say anything other than giving him an angry look.

"Why are you looking at me like that? I'm going to sleep with you this afternoon. Get you pregnant and we'll have fun. The other women are barren, so you'll be my favourite," the Satyr smirked.

"You can't have children from Titans or humans. You're a satyr!" Erithea said curtly.

"What? You are just a woman. What do you possibly know about that?" The Satyr whose body was shorter than Erithea refuted. He tried to grab the girl's hand.

Erithea glanced at her butterfly which was still flying buzzing near the ceiling. The satyr probably thought it was just an ordinary bee. He ignored it.

When the satyr grabbed Erithea's hand—the girl called out.

"Kill him!"

Instantly, her golden butterfly shot something towards Silas. That was a kind of needle with deadly poison stuck to his neck. The satyr looked confused for a moment. He staggered before collapsing to the ground. The other women were shocked and looked sad. They immediately surrounded the satyr who was probably still unconscious. It took some time before the poison reached his nervous system.

The butterfly flew back towards Erithea and landed on her hand.

"Thank you," Erithea said in relief then pinned it again in her wavy reddish hair.

"Hmm, am I late? This satyr is dead," Apollo who had just kicked the door into Silas' house looked disappointed.

Erithea returned to her senses. Then her demeanor softened when he realized who it was. Erithea had lived for almost two hundred years. Surely she had seen that Titan.

"You must be the owner of that pegasus, I came here to save you. But, it seems you can defend yourself," Apollo approached Erithea and studied her face. The girl lowered her head, she realized that Titan's status was very high among her race. She hesitated to answer.

"You look familiar, have we met?" The handsome prince brought his face closer to get a better look at Erithea's face while scratching his chin thoughtfully.

Poor woman. Thank you for reading this far!
