Impromptu Exorcism (1)

There were many ways for a person to become a puppet of another in this world. There was no shortage of tricks, spells, rituals, or procedures. Even the most mundane of people, magicless and frail, have the ability to manipulate others into doing their bidding.

Oftentimes, such takeovers of someone else were usually found out and caught. The puppet master and the puppet would thereafter be severed from one another, either freeing the victim from the grasp of the puppeteer or dying in the attempt.

It was always a battle for control, and life. 

When I reached the pinnacle of strength that rivaled that of the gods, I grew immune to even the strongest of mind control or takeover. I eventually reached the point where I could instantly deduce a victim, and successfully free them without the threat of unfortunate death.
