Opening the door to Fergon's shop was like opening the gates of the depths of the underworld itself. A hot and thick wind blew out as soon as the doors swung open, accompanied by a gray plume.
I wasn't caught by surprise, but Zeal and Pam certainly were. The barrier I cast over Zeal protected her from being hurt, while Pam reacted by placing her elbows up her face.
"Mr. Fergon? Are you alright there?" I asked with concern as I waved away a cloud of smoke and dust. Using my enhanced senses, I saw that the dwarf was still toiling away.
I decided to place Zeal down on her feet. The boxes and the bucket floated around her, continuing to serve her appetite. I then turned towards Pam.
"Look after the little one here," I said, "Don't worry. Nobody is gonna bother you out here. But if they do, I trust that you can handle it."
