Hotei looked up at his worried mother, his eyes filled with shock and disbelief.

She was a beautiful woman in her early twenties, with long black hair. She was wearing a traditional headband, Her clothes were plain and unassuming, but they were also elegant and graceful, however her appearance was betrayed by the dark circles under her eyes and her weary expression

But none of this shocked him more than her white piercing eyes.

''Hotei! is something wrong? why are you spaced out like this''

getting out of his stupor Hotei said '' OH... uh.. nothing okaasan'' and resumed to busy himself with his wooden toys

the mother looked suspiciously at her toddler son but didn't pursue the issue.

'shit, please tell me I didn't transmigrate to another world entirely. moreover if my guess is right it seems to be a familiar one too, how is that even possible ....'

looking at his mother's back while she folded the laundry , Hotei couldn't help but curse inside of his heart.

'and I guess according to the few people I saw before and my new mother, I am in one of the weirdest clans of Konoha, albeit there seems to be a big problem!! , looking at the clues around I am definitely from the branch family ... lets calm down, I am not even sure if this is the Naruto universe , for all I know, my clan has white eyes and it has nothing to do with the Hyuga clan' thought an unconvinced Hotei.

to prove his theory, Hotei simply used his academic approach he always used his past life, throw it to the wall and see if it sticks!!

Hotei stood up and went to his mother and said in a pretentious dumb smile '' okaasan , give me'' while reaching out his hand to her forehead,

Hotei's mother recoiled at first, but looking at her son's innocent and curious eyes, she let him take it, however looking at her son who was holding her headband and spacing out again, her buried worry resurfaced again ' is he sick today? perhaps I should take him to see the clan's apothacry...'

Contrary to the innocent spaced out face of the little Hotei , an adult seemed to be cursing inside

' ah shit, did I really had to go and test it out, that tattoo/seal on her forehead is definitely the one I remember from my past life , although it looked different in the anime from the manga for obvious reasons, it is definitely the one , the Hyuga clan huh....'

Hotei touched his forehead and laughed in his heart ' there is no way I would accept such a deal you know'

Hotei knew that the branch family was treated as second-class citizens by the main family. They were not allowed to learn the clan's secret and they were often punished for even the smallest infractions. That would be the smallest of issues.

'Looking at my past life, people often showed the worst of humanity when they had power over others, even though we didn't see a lot of that in the show , that would be merely because it was an anime for all ages, human behavior often shows extremes when there are little to no consequences'

''Hotei, come here, lets take a stroll'' Said Hotei's mother who could it take it no longer.

She picked up her son and carried him outside to the clan's apothecary. When she entered the shop, the owner looked up at her with a frown.

"What do you want?" he asked gruffly.

ignoring the rude remarks of the owner as if it was a regular occurrence, "I need your help," Hotei's mother said. "My son is not well.

The owner sighed. "What is wrong with him?" he asked.

"I don't know," Hotei's mother said. "He just seems different. He's not himself."

The owner looked at Hotei, who was sitting on the floor, staring at the wall. "I see," he said.

''let me do a quick check up on him, put him on the table'' said the owner

Only now did Hotei got out of his thoughts

'for how long was I out of it' said Hotei while watching the apothecary owner do a half-assed check up on him.

''he seems to be fine, did he eat something he shouldn't?'' said the owner with a bored look

seeing the look on the owner's disinterested face , Hotei's mother sighed and took her son back to the house, her face looking more tired than before.

As Hotei carried by his mother were walking back home from the apothecary, Hotei look at a mountain with three faces carved on it with great interest.

"What's this?" Hotei asked his mother while pointing his chubby finger.

"Those are the faces of the Hokage." his mother said. "They are the leaders of Konohagakure''

looking at the three faces on the mountain, Hotei nodded his head.

'it seems the Sandiame Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, is still the acting Hokage, I more or less understand in general which timeline I transmigrated into, it seems I am older than the naruto generation, but Hiruzen took the mantle of Hokage in the First shinobi war, and only stepped down after the third, I wonder which era am I in then?'
