Evelyn didn't like this coming up again. "I already told you not to look for your father. He's a leech who will want a lot of money from you. I'm trying to protect the two of us here. You don't remember what your father is like since we left him when you were young."
"I find that hard to believe. It's no secret who I am married to since Liam is always in the news for something and my face was going around the news for my accident. If my father wanted money, he would have come to me long ago. If there's a good reason I would rather you tell me the truth," said Veronica.
"I've already told you the truth and if you came here to ask me about a man I got away from then I will have to ask you to leave. I thought you came here because you wanted to fix our relationship, not this. There are some things I do to protect you whether you believe it or not. I should have known," Evelyn said, upset with herself.
