"I would like to know that as well." The King turned over to hear the servant who spoke and it was then that he felt he was going to be crucified. He widened his eyes, the same hazel eyes with the same face as his son Adam just about twenty years older. Those emerald eyes with the light auburn hair, the crystal had told King Adonis that his eldest son had set his eyes on the maiden. This is bad, this is really really bad.
Kavira's face was angry. She had never been so disrespected, she didn't ask for this Prince to fancy her. He was out of his mind trying to court her even after she blatantly rejected him. "I am so sorry." The King wasn't one to apologize but he did it and with a bow.
"Father?" Prince Adam was surprised to witness his fathers actions and when Prince Jacob strolled into the room he saw the scene that was being caused. "What's happening here?"
"You two be quiet." The King rose to high rightful stance and managed an apologetic expression in spite of his mistakable disgust from earlier. "Miss, would you care to join us for dinner, we have plenty of seats that we may spare."
Kavira wasn't sure about the King's sudden change in demeanor so she hesitated even after he continued to insist. He asked the chefs to lay the food on the table and leave. "Please, sit by my son Jacob." Jacob was only a year younger than Adam, same hazel eyes but with black hair that reflected blue when the light hit it directly. His smile was a lot more friendly than Adam's seductive smirk, she didn't feel all that pressured by taking a seat next to him.
"So you are the girl that has come for the Dragon Elder's compass." Kavira's eyes remained calm but she glanced over to catch Clain's expression after hearing King Adonis's words. "Don't be uneasy. I've been expecting you for a very long time. You are the girl with the dragon's eye branded on your right arm, yes?"
King Adonis knew that he had hit the jackpot when she remained silent. He went on to explain further since he didn't want to make her feel anxious about why he knew so much. "I have a magical crystal ball that informs me of many things. You and five others have come for the compass, I'll gladly give it to you but the talking crystal has asked that you come see him first."
In all the books that had been read by the group, never were there any texts about magical weapons or items. They knew that magical items existed because of Kavira's power but they didn't know how many there were or what they could do. The King's trade caught Kavira's interest, all she had to do was meet this talking crystal and he would hand her the compass. Was this a trap?
"I'll come, but I have a condition. My friends have to come along with me." Kavira wasn't willing to walk into a trap alone. She didn't know the extent of a magic items powers just as she didn't even know the limit to her own.
"It's settled then. Please, eat." King Adonis pointed towards the food and the four began to eat.
The food was done and the plates were taken away, they were waiting on dessert when Prince Jacob felt the urge to say something. "What is your name miss? I believe that you're a very interested person to have the attention of the crystal."
"Kavira." She smiled lightly, taking another glimpse and Clain's grim expression. "Does Miss Kavira have a last name?" Jacob was being sufficiently pushy but Kavira didn't mind, she didn't have a last name after all. Using General Tross's last name would probably put him in a pickle so she decided on giving him her most brilliant over the shoulder smile. "Just Kavira."
"Wow. You really are amazing. Would you like to go for a walk with me in the garden after we have dessert?" Prince Adam couldn't grab a hold of his longing. King Adonis sent warning signals to his son but the prince was to busy dazed by the girl on the opposite side of the table.
"Adam, please stop. This young lady is already spoken for." The prince was ready to protest these words but his father held his right hand up firmly. "She is to not be disturbed. Miss Kavira, do bring your friends up to my study when we are done here. I'll have rooms ready for you all."
King Adonis really is afraid of what Kavira can do.. shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. I would be too if it was foretold that she could destroy everything I had built
