The God of Calamity’s Wife: before the beginning book 1

caution: violent scenes and child endangerment- this is a post war world set in Norse mythology and the world is on the brink of war again- Centuries ago, war shattered Asgard. Tired of living in the shadow of the Aesir, Loki and his creatures of chaos sought the respect they believed was their due. Their rebellion, however, brought only death, exile, and the fleeting victory of the Aesir. But gods cannot die forever, and Loki’s defeat came with a prophecy: the war would come again, and next time, he would be ready. Many began to question whether Odin was truly fit to rule the realms. (But that was not my concern. I am an entity of death, a Fylgia bound to the cycles of life and fate. My interest lies elsewhere—with two souls cursed by Odin to live, die, and repeat their lonely existence for eternity. Sirius and Saoirse. For centuries, I’ve watched them endure lives destined for isolation and suffering. I’ve grown tired of their pain. What if they didn’t have to be alone? What if I could give them a chance to defy fate? And, perhaps, what if I could become part of the story that I’ve shaped? These were my thoughts leading up to the beginning of this story. But meddling with destiny has consequences. I probably should have paid more attention to that war, because what I didn’t realize was, by changing one thing, a ripple would expand across the realms that nobody could have anticipated.) Sirius and Saoirse, they weren’t just any Vampire and Werewolf that could have been brought together. They are creatures that must come to terms with the demon beasts inside of them or bringing them together might just end up finishing what Loki’s children had started. The problem is, all they want is a legacy. author note: This story builds a bit slower at the beginning and then picks up more action when they get to Asgard, so don’t worry, this book will have 500 chapters and this is just the beginning!

68- hunting a fomoire part 1

"His body is only that of a Demi-god.- but you! Oh Sirius, if only you could only recall the glorious day of your birth!"

"Who is my mother? I know it wasn't the woman who married my father, so who?"

"Hahahahaha!" Taz laughed.

Taz took control of Sirius' body and turned in circles, burning all of the sand around him and making molten glass. The liquid splashed beneath his feet, which were fireproof and didn't feel pain from it. Each little droplet became a glass drop, frozen in time.

"Who is my mother? Tell me Taz!"

Taz wiped a tear from the eye of his beastly body.

"Stop laughing at me, you dumb beast, speak!"

Taz laughed some more. "Ah! If I tell you then where's the fun in that? Like I said, I like it when you beg." Taz spoke to Sirius' mind. "I tell you what, once you defeat Odin on your own, and you don't need my help to save you, then I'll tell you."

Then with that, Taz vomited, and all of the Valkyrie, Odin and Nanna's skeletons spewed onto the ground. Their bones sank into the glass that Taz had melted, trapping them there.

"Go now! "You'd better get away from here; Odin will never forgive you for eating him!"

Sirius looked at the digested remains of the immortal beings before him. Even their bones were made of gold. Defeat Odin? His beastly legion voice still unable to pronounce human words shrieked in his unknown language that no one but Taz could understand. "But he's already dead!"

Taz didn't respond to him. Sirius slashed the ground with his claws and then an angry molten breath escaped his lips.

He looked up from the bones and finally noticed that his family had left him.

"Sriiiiiiiiiiaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!" His shrill voice escaped his lips, calling for his wife, his best attempt to say her name.

Where did she go Taz? He asked.

Go find her yourself. I'm tired now that you upchucked our dinner.

Sirius realized in that moment how tired he was. His metabolism in this form was so high, his stomach twisted in pain. Maybe he regretted vomiting his meal, but he wouldn't let Taz know that, so he didn't even let his mind entertain the idea since Taz could read his mind.

At the same time he felt that was wrong to feel that way, another feeling came to him: I should have eaten more Valkyrie. He lamented his hungry state right now, but he quickly corrected himself. "No I will not be a monster!" He decided, letting out one last bark at himself.

Taz seemed to chuckle at this. Sirius' physical body chuckled, which came out in unnatural "heh heh heh heh."Taz had too much control over him in this form. Sirius frowned.

Now that he didn't have the bodies inside of him, he willed himself to return to his appearance of a human. His wingspan went from 20 feet to 8 and his black and white hair and soft red eyed self returned. His connection to Taz was less now and Taz would soon sleep.

Sirius let out a sigh of relief. But this was short lived as above him he heard a booming voice, and a shadow passed over him by a spectator.

"What a loud creature you are." The voice said pleased.

Sirius turned around to see the feet of a giant that had approached him, each foot as large as him. Then he realized that he was surrounded by these monsters. Somehow they had approached him and he hadn't noticed.

He looked up at the monster and it looked down at him.

"Welcome to Nefilheim." The creature said mockingly. "The great lake of fire and brimstone. "We are what they call Fomoires. Giant creatures that are part goat"

Then he let out a sinister bleating laugh that seemed to Sirius almost intentional. Then he got serious and looked down at Sirius below him with an evil look in his eye. "And it looks like we just found ourselves a little snack."

Chuckles verberated from the group.

Saoirse and Sroka had made their way to the cave nearby. The entrance to it was decorated by runes and she could hear the faint echo of water dripping in the depths. She ran her finger along the cave drawings and they glowed faintly. A look of curiosity crossed her face.

"What is it?" Sroka asked.

The ice inside of her seemed to activate slightly and some of it spread from her palm onto the wet wall.

"I can feel the substance of this rock, it is magical." She said. "It seems to amplify my powers."

Sroka reached out her hand hesitantly and as she touched the rock, her hand disappeared into it, passing through the wall. She pulled her hand out. "Woah!"

"We had better not let Lachlan touch that, I feel like he would send us all back to the nightmare realm that I saw a glimpse of before."

"What was it like?"

"It was cold and dark, it seemed like a huge battle had vanquished the whole land. Even the planet seemed to have died."

Saoirse took a step inside of the cave, lachlan still in her embrace. Sroka followed her.

The air grew colder as Saoirse pressed on, and she swore she could hear faint whispers carried on the draft. The air around them began to be less visible. Mists covered the ground and as she walked forward, she suddenly began to feel warm again.

"Huh?" Sroka interrupted her thoughts. Saoirse opened her eyes to see what Sroka was talking about and to her surprise, she was back at the cave entrance.

"It's some kind of barrier." She pointed out to Sroka, who then agreed.

"So what should we do?"

"I want to understand it." She replied. "Besides, it sounded like someone is in the cave."

Sroka opened her mouth to speak. She wanted to explain to Saoirse that going towards voices in a cave is bad but then a shrill, desperate cry it their ears.

"Sriiiiiiiiiiaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!" The sound stopped them in their tracks.
