Centuries ago, war shattered Asgard. Tired of living in the shadow of the Aesir, Loki and his creatures of chaos sought the respect they believed was their due. Their rebellion, however, brought only death, exile, and the fleeting victory of the Aesir. But gods cannot die forever, and Loki’s defeat came with a prophecy: the war would come again, and next time, he would be ready. Many began to question whether Odin was truly fit to rule the realms. (But that was not my concern. I am an entity of death, a Fylgia bound to the cycles of life and fate. My interest lies elsewhere—with two souls cursed by Odin to live, die, and repeat their lonely existence for eternity. Sirius and Saoirse. For centuries, I’ve watched them endure lives destined for isolation and suffering. I’ve grown tired of their pain. What if they didn’t have to be alone? What if I could give them a chance to defy fate? And, perhaps, what if I could become part of the story that I’ve shaped? These were my thoughts leading up to the beginning of this story. But meddling with destiny has consequences. I probably should have paid more attention to that war, because what I didn’t realize was, by changing one thing, a ripple would expand across the realms that nobody could have anticipated.) Sirius and Saoirse, they weren’t just any Vampire and Werewolf that could have been brought together. They are creatures that must come to terms with the demon beasts inside of them or bringing them together might just end up finishing what Loki’s children had started. author note: This story builds a bit slower at the beginning and then picks up more action when they get to Asgard, so don’t worry, this book will have 500 chapters and this is just the beginning!
Sirius and Saoirse were aware that the moon was full this week. They had made plans every month since Saoirse had hit puberty to spend those difficult days away from each other. Saoirse always went with Madeleine, even now that Madeleine had grown up and married, they had remained close.
This month was no different. With the moon so full, Saoirse had actually just gotten back from such a trip, and her wolf hormones had gone down quite a bit before running into Linus, so even though she had been kissing Sirius more often lately, they had still maintained within their set boundaries to avoid mistakes.
However, the moon had stayed full one extra day that month, and she had returned before it was completely gone. If Linus had come earlier, they wouldn't have even been home, however, as fate would have it, and later we would learn that his lifeline indeed had this moment included on it, he would notice that she hadn't quite showered after coming home from Madeleines so her hormones lingered in her hair.
As they sat there on the couch, his beast noticed this and ever so cunningly sent him a thought.
He was so used to being told no by Sirius that he thought, maybe if he didn't yell, it would be his chance to finally convince him to consummate their union.
Envisioning a new opportunity to have safety in their life, the thought casually crept into Sirius' mind that perhaps, one time couldn't hurt. Alastor wouldnt even have to know and maybe then they would leave for the werewolf pack and there would be no real reason he couldn't have her today.
At first, Sirius suspected his beast of this thought, but he didn't yell so perhaps it had come from the good side of him. For this reason, he pondered it a bit.
(His beast smiled and so did I.)
"What do you mean, try a different approach at life?" Saoirse asked?
(So far so good, the beast in him and I smiled at each other, mom is taking the bait too.)
Sirius felt himself go nervous about voicing his feelings and of course Saoirse felt it too.
"No no no no no. Sirius, I know what you're thinking, I should go and take a shower."
(Her beast caught on to our scheme as soon as she did and if all three of us were visible to them they would have seen our disappointment.)
Dad cooled down a bit as his mind took over better and reason made him nod. "Of course. That's a good idea. I'll go to sleep. Sorry for my intrusive thoughts, I don't know what came over me."
Saoirse nodded and got up and left. The water turned on and she began washing herself.
Sirius lay down and shut his eyes. His beast was upset at him and he realized that it really had been his cunning all along. "Stop it! stop it! stop it!" He exclaimed.
The scent of Linus' blood on his breath bothered him. "I really should have a shower too." He realized now that it was rude of him to go to bed like this. Saoirse would have to wash the sheets and everything. He sat back up and decided to change into a bathrobe to wait his turn instead.
When Saoirse finished showering, she came out smelling of cherry blossoms and soap and it was nice, but he no longer had the full moon problems to deal with, so his tension went away.
He took his own shower and then joined her in the bed and closed his eyes. He felt a lot better. He nearly drifted off to sleep when a new smell wafted into his nose.
What is this? The full moon is over. He looked out the window at the dark forest and was unable to see the sky but he was sure, it was the middle of the day by now. He looked over at his wife's sleeping face and it was alluring to him more than usual.
Alluring to him, not his beast.
(I will say, that his beast, her beast, me, and everyone else was asleep by now because really mom and dad hadn't taken the bait we left them so what would be the point? The next moment we all knew though, he had gotten really hot and it wasn't our faults and we all looked at each other confused at what had provoked him, but dad had an idea of his own in his head and that was the persistent: One time wouldn't hurt, now would it?)
With Linus' blood coursing through his veins, mom and dad discovered that day that something triggered his bloodlust more than the moon, and that was drinking werewolf blood.
His beast didn't come out, neither did hers, all of us really hadn't expected him to make this kind of decision and we really didn't want to be there for that when the moment finally came to him, so we actually all left and gave them privacy. But before that….)
Sirius leaned over and placed a gentle kiss on Saoirse's lips.
