Goodbye

Vael's gaze, now filled with an unrelenting killing intent, was fixed firmly on Lord Zephyrian. Each step Vael took forward caused Lord Zephyrian to retreat, a sense of fear evident in his actions. In a mere blink, Vael vanished from sight, leaving Lord Zephyrian frantically searching for him.

Suddenly, Lord Zephyrian felt an immense force, as if colliding with an unseen barrier. He turned around only to find Vael standing right behind him, wearing a chillingly sinister smile. Without a word, Vael delivered a devastating punch, sending Lord Zephyrian hurtling towards a nearby building.

But before Lord Zephyrian could crash into the structure, Vael, swift as lightning, caught him by the tail. Crafting a long acid sword, Vael executed a precise, swift slice, severing Lord Zephyrian's tail. The battlefield was filled with Lord Zephyrian's agonized screams.

The Sable Serpent guards, momentarily caught off-guard by the sight of their lord in peril, charged towards Vael. Unfazed, Vael stood his ground, raising his free hand. An enormous orb of acid, larger than his own body, began to form. With a swift motion, he launched the colossal orb towards the oncoming guards.

The guards, desperate to defend themselves, conjured their own acid orbs. But their efforts were in vain against the sheer magnitude of Vael's attack. The massive orb engulfed their defenses, continuing its path unabated and obliterating every Sable Serpent guard in its way.

Vael, still gripping what remained of Lord Zephyrian's tail, released his hold, allowing his body to drop. But before Lord Zephyrian could hit the ground, Vael executed a powerful spinning kick, sending him flying through the air. As he did this, Vael felt a sharp pain and began to cough up blood, a clear sign that Luminara's power was taking a toll on his body. "I need to end this now," he thought urgently.

Approaching Lord Zephyrian's prone body, Vael conjured a massive great sword, large enough to cleave through lord zephyrian completely. He imbued the sword with the last remnants of his power, preparing for the final blow.

As Vael raised the sword, poised to strike, a sudden acid orb struck him from behind. It was fired by one of the few remaining guards, who had survived Vael's previous attack. The unexpected attack caused Vael to stumble and fall, giving Lord Zephyrian a chance to regain his footing.

"You foolish Elysian. I should have annihilated all of you long ago," Lord Zephyrian sneered, kicking Vael onto the ground. As Vael's body began to lose its luminous glow, the effects of Luminara's power were clearly fading.

Seizing the moment, Lord Zephyrian made a desperate move. He impaled his own chest with his arm, extracting a crystal from within and crushing it in his grasp. His body started to swell and expand grotesquely.

"Is he trying to self-destruct?" Vael wondered aloud.

Just then, Moxy flew to Vael's side. "I sensed a massive power surge and came as fast as I could," she explained. "I've taken Lyria and Elrik to safety, along with many Elysian civilians."

"Good job," Vael managed to say, his focus still on the swelling figure of Lord Zephyrian.

"Vael, let's get out of here!" Moxy shouted, transforming into her dragon form, urgency in her voice.

Vael gently patted Moxy on the head, a resolute expression on his face. "Go, Moxy. I'll handle this. There are still civilians here. If I let him destroy everything, no one will have a home to return to."

"But what about you?" Moxy's voice trembled with concern.

With a reassuring smile, Vael responded, "Trust me, I'll be okay."

After a final nuzzle against Vael, Moxy reluctantly soared away. Vael turned his attention back to Lord Zephyrian, whose body was still expanding ominously. Placing his hand on Lord Zephyrian, Vael channeled every ounce of his remaining energy into forming a protective shield around them. As Lord Zephyrian's body grew, so did the shield.

Blood started to pour from Vael's ears, nose, and mouth. The pain was excruciating, yet he remained unwaveringly focused on containing the impending explosion.

From Moxy's perspective in the sky, a massive explosion erupted, sending a powerful shockwave that momentarily knocked her off balance. The force was so immense that it reverberated through the air.

"Vael!" Moxy screamed, her voice filled with dread. Fighting against the gusts, she quickly turned back, flying towards the epicenter of the explosion, desperate to find Vael.

In a secluded room, far from the chaos of Vael and Lord Zephyrian's battle, a solitary figure sat in contemplation. His gaze was fixed on a crystal ball, which displayed the unfolding conflict between Vael and Zephyrian. The room was dimly lit, casting shadows that danced across the walls with each flicker of the scene within the crystal.

"Interesting," the man murmured to himself, his voice a blend of curiosity and amusement. He leaned forward, his eyes not leaving the crystal ball as he watched the intense battle.

"If the boy manages to survive this, perhaps this world will regain some of its lost excitement," he speculated, a hint of a smile playing on his lips.

I want to thank everyone who read and enjoyed the story of Vael up to this point. This was the ending of the first season, but don't worry, season two will be even better. I hope you guys continue supporting the book. This is my first book that I've taken seriously, and I'll continue to do my best. I've also started a second book that will be just as good, called "Otherworldly Evil Sword." I recommend checking it out. Thank you.
