Bared to you: Part Eleven

Esme walked towards the bathroom without a word and had a bath, dismissing Anastasia through a mind-link and telling her to have the night off. Her friend would not be needed. Not ever again.

Once she was done, her legs took her towards the bedroom, and she picked up the white satin nightgown Ethan had placed on the bed for her. Her movements were robotic as though she was on autopilot; she hid the knife and found Ethan's hidden syringe of wolfsbane and hid that also. Esme climbed into bed and waited, bracing herself for when Ethan would reappear. She knew that Ethan was arguing with Callum over something from the raised voices downstairs, but she tuned out of their words.

Whatever words they spoke, it didn't matter. Nothing mattered anymore outside of this night.
