Caleb POV
The alarms went off for ten minutes on end. They locked all the entrance doors to keep anyone from entering or leaving into a new quad. The whole floor was running around checking on patients. It felt like a disaster.
My friends are on their way, and I don’t know if they’ll be able to make it on the grounds. I sent them a text message explaining the whole ordeal that's happening.
Paige and I slowly started to walk back, until we noticed a door that was creaked open. The door led to a flight of downward stairs. I looked at Paige in question and wondered if this was a way out.
We obviously couldn’t go back to my room, it was probably already swarmed. It also wasn’t going to hurt to see where these stairs led. I motioned to Paige to follow along and close the door behind her.
“No way! These stairs are way too long,” Paige grunted.
“I’m not going back through that door,” I replied.
