Chapter 16: Operation Caleb
We made it just in time to the hospital, and it didn’t appear to be as crowded as I’d expect it to be. I could count about eight different cars. It was still one in the morning, so that might’ve been a factor.
The woman drove up to the front and parked her car. She also looked relieved after that mess with the police officer just now. That was a very close call.
We had finally made it, and Caleb was going to receive some medical attention.
“I cannot thank you enough for taking us this far. I don’t even know where we’d be without you helping us,” I thanked the woman.
“Just keep yourselves safe...and remember to talk things through each time with each other. Goodbye to you both.” The woman smiled.
“Thank you again!” Caleb exclaimed.
Caleb and I both left the car and waved goodbye to the woman. That and everything beforehand was in the past now. We’re finally moving on and letting that go.
“Do you know where we are?” I asked Caleb.
