As if she was the owner of the room, Esther took her seat on the bed as soon as she entered Shikera's room.
"You wanted to tell me something?" Shikera asked.
"I wanted to ask for your permission," Esther enunciated, confusing Shikera with the pleading tone in her voice.
"Permission? Shouldn't you be asking Eth— your father?"
Esther shrugged and shook her head.
"He doesn't have the say in this matter," she replied.
Though Shikera was still confused, she signaled to Esther to continue and the latter complied.
"I want to live here, with you and Daddy."
"Why...? No, that's not the point. Why does your father not have a say when this is his house?!"
"Because he's my father."
Shikera was getting annoyed with the short answers she was getting, so she walked to the bed and sat beside Esther.
"And that should be the better reason you should ask him."
