Abandoned Estate
Cedric acted brazenly and impulsively on purpose. He was alright with most people seeing his new personality since it would raise his reputation. However, he needed to appear as the useless prince in front of Queen Isolde; otherwise, she would see him as a threat to her son's claim to the crown.
Queen Isolde was not surprised after seeing him demand an invitation. If anything, she looked relieved that he was the same. Cedric knew that word of his achievements had reached her ears and made her concerned about this change.
"Of course, dear," the queen answered, gesturing toward her retainer with her fan. "Give him the invitation, Drenn."
The old elf, Drenn, nodded and raised a single hand. The invitation materialized out of thin air, looking like a golden envelope with Cedric's name written on it. Then, without another word, Cedric rose, snatched the invitation, and turned around to leave.
"I'll see you tomorrow!"
