The extra's path

Andrew was a boy who had only had one role in society: that of a victim. When he was finally stabbed to death by his own family, his last thoughts were: what a waste of life. Surprisingly, he did not see darkness, instead he saw a man and a woman smiling sweetly at him. When he realized that he was in the body of a baby, his only thought was: I am going to enjoy this life to the fullest. Unfortunately, this new world I had been born into felt very familiar, as if I had read about it somewhere before. This is my first novel in English, I hope you enjoy it and sorry for the spelling mistakes.

Rencarnation

After being poisoned by my supposed brother, I found myself in an empty and completely dark space that reminded me of an abyss.

'So this is death' I thought.

While trapped in this darkness, I realized why my younger brother had killed me.

It was no secret that James wanted to make me suffer due to our previous incident, so if they found my body, he would be the main suspect, and as an added bonus, he would get rid of a potential successor, killing two birds with one stone.

"Damn piece of shit," I muttered.

"If I had known it would end up like this, I would have at least burned my wretched family to ashes," I thought.

Suddenly, I noticed something in the distance on the horizon of this vast void. "What is that?" I exclaimed.

In the midst of that infinite darkness, a light started approaching, growing bigger and bigger.

Before I had enough time to think, the light reached me and gradually seemed to absorb me.

I could feel my body disintegrating piece by piece.

When the light had practically absorbed me entirely, the scenery changed, and I found myself looking at a wooden ceiling.

I tried to say something, but all that came out of my mouth was a whimper.

"Seems like a healthy baby, Mr. Lewis," I heard.

When I could see my surroundings better, realized there were three giants in the room.

One was a middle-aged woman wearing a white robe with a golden embroidery in the center of a pentagram.

The other figure was that of a man in his 30s, pale, thin, with black hair and eyes, and a look of pure excitement on his face.

The man reached his large hand toward my face and whispered gently, "My son."

"Son?"

Upon further examining my body, I realized that it wasn't that the man claiming to be my father was a giant, but rather that I was very small, as if I were a baby.

Wait, it can't be, I have actually been reincarnated.

I always thought these things only happened in fiction on television, but I've truly been reincarnated.

"Ah, ah, darling... Could you let me hold my baby?" A weary voice echoed.

The pale man held me and handed me over to a woman who appeared exhausted.

She had long green hair that, along with her emerald eyes, gave her an enchanting appearance despite her tiredness.

"Since when do people exist with green hair?" I thought.

The beautiful woman cradled me in her slender arms, and with her exquisite full lips, she uttered, "Welcome to the world... Liam."

For some reason, those words brought tears to my eyes, and I began to cry.

Those words contained so much love and affection... those few words made me feel loved for the first time in my life.

"I don't know what this is, but if destiny has given me a second chance, I will make the most of it. I will live my life to the fullest and enjoy my new family," I promised myself.

Just after my mother embraced me, two men in expensive-looking black suits entered.

"Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis, we've come to register your child in the Lotus database," one of them said.

At that moment, a shiver ran down my spine. "Lotus?! Wasn't that the government from that novel I read!?" A flood of thoughts overwhelmed me.

"Ah, we weren't expecting you so early, agents," the old woman said.

What is his name?" asked the mysterious men.

"Liam, his name is Liam Lewis," my father exclaimed shyly.

One of the two men began typing on his laptop. "Liam Lewis, registered in the database," said the one who was typing with indifference.

The other suited men approached me with a strange device in his hand.

The man pointed the peculiar device at me, and I felt a light scanning my face. "Facial scan complete," the burly man said.

Then, the second man approached with a syringe and injected me. "Blood analysis complete," he stated.

"We will return when the child is 9 years old to measure their potential and elemental affinity," the two individuals exclaimed in unison. They then turned around and left.

"Lotus is becoming more authoritarian every day. Can you believe they are registering a newborn child?" my supposed father exclaimed disdainfully.

"Watch your mouth, Abraham. Lotus has done so much for us. They can't afford to waste time; they are busy dealing with monster attacks and the war in the East," the old woman said.

"Well, that doesn't give them the right to neglect their own people. We must never forget why we fight," my mother intervened.

"Well, it's official. I'm fucked" I thought to myself.

Previously, when Lotus was mentioned, I wished it was just a coincidence.

But when the old woman mentioned beasts and war in the East, I knew it couldn't be a coincidence.

Now my goal wasn't just to live a fulfilling life, but to survive and protect my new family. It seems that I have reincarnated into one of the cruelest novels I've ever read.

"The Herald of Time."

"The Herald of Time" is a fantasy novel centered around Seth, the protagonist.

In this world, magic exists as a supernatural phenomenon that can be controlled through mana, which is possessed by all living beings.

Seth was born with the lowest potential for mana control, leading to his parents' rejection and his own friends' mockery.

However, everything changed when he stumbled upon the soul of a fallen god, Kronos, and fused with it.

By bonding with this soul, not only did his potential increase to the highest level, but he also awakened a unique attribute called [Time].

And the novel revolves around Seth facing the challenges that come his way as he strives to become the most powerful human and, along the way, forms friendships and romantic interests.

What's intriguing is that the "challenges" the protagonist faces include wars, monsters, villains, giants and gods.

I remember this novel particularly because it vividly portrayed the suffering of the main and supporting characters. In short, if I want to protect myself and my new family, I'll need strength.

"I don't know what the future holds, but I'm determined to protect my loved ones."
