Picking it out and paying for it he read through it. The book had a lot of information he hadn't heard of first was S Class monsters.
They were simply described as beings that had broken the limits of the dimension they inhabited and were complete overlords. Further stating, they would take hundreds to thousands of elite warriors of a race to slay only one of them.
These S Class monsters upon dying would drop pieces of the key needed to break out the race from the protected Zone.
As for where they were located, no one knew. They were all in hibernation and would only wake when someone got too close to them. So each race in a Protected Zone would have to look for them. Monsters would instinctively avoid settling in the domain of an S Class monster, so a general sign for an S Class monster was a lack of monsters in a large area.
Reading more about them Noah opened his Explorer Map. He had already mapped out the whole supercontinent. He quickly marked all the areas he hadn't been to before.
"I've mainly explored the inland." The Supercontinent was such that Cloud country was in between both Fire and Light country. There were only 10,000 cities and towns in total from all three countries. These towns and cities mainly formed a network in the centre area of their countries with only a few at the coast.
He had seen the ocean in passing on his way to a B Class dungeon. It was exactly the same as on earth. There were ships and boats that you could use to travel as well.
Other than that there were a lot of other areas he hadn't visited as they had no cities nearby. The mountainous area up north, the large desert area west. There were large gaps of forestry between some towns and cities that had no dungeons so he had skipped over.
As he further thought he had the Levitation Staff fly him to the geography and geology section of the library. He wanted to check his luck and he had thought right, the Angels had set up a magic tower in the Floating Holy Library to analyse the landscape of the Protected Zone. The data was recorded in an atlas. Paying 20 gold he pulled the thick book out.
As he flipped through it he heard a ding!
[Explorer Map is updating 2..4..7%]
A screen with a loading bar formed. This was the first time he had seen one. Each time he had opened a new map, the Explorer Map only took moments to update.
He went through the atlas himself, as he waited. It was in a lot more detail showing each section of the planet zoomed in. This meant it covered the ocean as well, showing islands he hadn't seen before.
Putting the Atlas away he pulled out two more books. One was on the Library's search for dungeons the other was the population analysis of monsters. As he bought both of them and opened them, two more loading bars appeared.
"I've found a treasure mine." Noah thought as he bought another book. It was called "Details on the Explorers Trait."
This book was about the Explorer trait. Compared to Insomniac and Ambidextrous Explorer was vaguer in function. So he was interested.
It explained the general use of the Explorer trait. First starting with the mapping function, which he already knew. The low-rank monster detecting skill as well as other features of the Explorer Map. It went on about the importance of information to the trait and that there was no limit to its potential.
The rest of the book was about its interaction with other traits and talents. He found out that a mind related talent, like Blessed Mind, could increase the information displayed on the Explorer Map. While a spatial one, like Spatial Sense, could increase its range of detection and form a virtual 3-dimensional map.
Trying it out, Noah imagined the 2d Map he had breaking into layers and stacking together to form a 3d image. It wasn't hard for him to do.
[Unlocking Spatial Map...]
It took a moment and the Explorer Map flipped back and then stretched out into a light blue 3-dimensional map that was constructed with thin strings. As he did this the other three bars had finished and the map had fine detail added to it.
Noah flew out to a more open area then expanded the map out as large as he could. Excluding the oceans, the Spatial Map showed the supercontinent in one flat plane. Other than that he could now see data about the population of monsters shown per 10,000 kilometres square.
Noah's eyes lit up seeing this, "Isn't this perfect for looking for S Class monsters?" He had thought the Explorer Map could help him find them but he didn't think it would be this good.
The land in the Protected Zone was almost the same as on earth, so there were around 15,000 sections the map showed the population density in. These were a lot but with Blessed Mind and his high intelligence, he was able to go through them quickly.
Taking in all the factors he had learned about finding an S Class monster he was able to deduce down to 742 sections. These were places with a low monster density and extreme environments; places S Class monsters usually inhabited. He had also removed places he had already been to and with dungeons nearby.
From these sections, two places were null of all monsters. One was the Forest of Spiders. In it, a certain zone called the Death's Grasp was recorded as a forbidden zone. No monster had been detected in it.
Another such area was Freedom Peak. It was a long range of mountains that went across the Cloud Country up north. In its inner zone, where mountains were tallest, it had a suspected monster density of zero.
Even the mapping of these areas was disrupted and showed both blurred and foggy.
"To find S Class monsters I'll have to go to each section myself and look around. Fully exploring each will take months." Noah then thought of something else, "In less than two months, on the first of July, the planets will merge and completely reconstruct the terrain of the Protected Zone. All the data I'll have collected will go redundant, and I'll have to start from scratch. It's best to just start after the merge."
Taking a final look at the map he noticed that there were a few B Class dungeons he hadn't seen before. He had been so distracted thinking about S Class monsters he hadn't noticed the newly added dungeons.
Going through the book about the location of dungeons he found the answer. The dungeon maps he had bought before were all from lower races, each race when entering the Protected Zone had explored and drawn the map telling the position of the dungeons they had found. The best dungeon map he had bought was by an elf.
Nevertheless, it was nothing in comparison to one made by the Angel race. The library had found 4 new B Class dungeons as well as hundreds of more dungeons from C to F Class. These dungeons were called Hidden Dungeons.
To look more into them he went back to the dungeon category.
Reading about them, he found they were just dungeons that weren't obvious when you walked by. They could have some type of sealed entrance, such as rocks blocking the way in, etc. So only through special skills could you locate them.
They were normally stronger than other dungeons of the same rank and had a high probability of having '+' Class monsters.
The first that came to mind was the F Class Black Werewolf dungeon, it had much better drops compared to other dungeons, if it was brought to the level of B Class dungeons, there was a probability of dropping D+ Class weapons like his Ancient Magic Wood Flintlock.
He found the nearest one, to his current location, he closed the map and flew to the entrance, teleporting out,
Flying to the Teleportation Hall he couldn't help but feel a little prick remembering how much gold he had used in reading books. He had spent more than 300 gold just to read books. B Class dungeons gave a lot of gold so he was able to spend freely but this had been the most he had ever spent in one go.
