Chapter 14: Difficulties, Grades And Ranks.

The Chimera finally reached the Primal forest, the name was extremely fitting for the said forest which was as large as the Great Ocean.

It was also home to a number of beasts, from the moment they enter Valmus could already sense the presence of various powerful beast all around them.

But unlike the Great ocean, the Primal forest did not nurture it's inhabitants it devoured them. This was something the Chimera had told him about during their journey.

He went as far as warning him to make sure he doesn't bleed within the forest for the moment it tastes his blood and finds it to be a delicacy, the forest would do everything in it's power to consume him.

This harrowing nature made the beasts of the forest more reserved in their battles and clashes after all of a dispute broke out and one unfortunately draws the blood of the other weren't they damning their foes to death?

This made Valmus reconsider his plan of venturing into the forest to gather natural resources and treasures after all it wasn't worth the risk dying for a fruit that may as well have been useless to you.

They no longer talked with the chimera both maintaining their silence as they marched through the forest, he could feel silent tremors that meant two immortal beasts were clashing.

Immortal beasts were the only beasts who could fight to their hearts content after all they were strong enough to resist the machinations if the Primal forest to devour them.

They also served to be beacons of hope and aspirations to the weaker and younger beasts, it was their own way of encouraging them to grow stronger so they can fight without fear.

'How cute.' Valmus snarled inwardly as much as he could understand the sentiment, strength came with its own share of problems and worries.

He was keenly aware of it since he had already experienced it, if not for wanting to have an extremely solid foundation within Vestia he would have never been so desperate to raise the level of his Celestial Body.

'My body is already at the ninth stage but because I logged in while at the seventh stage my stats didn't change even after my real body underwent an elevation.' He scowled before sighing there after.

In real life time a month was almost passing since the launch of Vestia. After thirty days according to when you logged in you would have automatically passed the bubble and obtain the Player status, they would then be transported to whichever Continent, Empire and Kingdom they chose. They would also be able to choose the achievements they wish to inherit, they were however capped a fifth of their achievements.

Those that had died during their bubble dive would obtain their Player  status and be transported to their preset or randomized location, they would sadly only inherit a tenth of their achievements, randomly to be precise.

Then there was a third category, one that was able to survive, pass and thrive within their said bubbles. They would be able to inherit all their achievements.

The third was what Valmus was gunning for after all how could his achievements be small? He had met, conversed, traded and befriended Immortal beasts.

Be was now on his way to make a Divine haven fall, and if he were lucky may as well aid in the slaying of gods.

Most players had already guessed or speculated but it was without a doubt that Vestia was ruthless to those who died or those who plainly followed the current of the wave. It was even more so for the former than the later, to have only a tenth of all you hard work given back to you randomly at that was pure evil. But there was nothing they could do after all they wouldn't know until all player met in the various kingdoms of their chosing.

'I have thirteen days left before my one month comes to an end, hopefully that'll be enough time to finish the objective quest of my chosing.'

As much as many players later complained about the lack of a quest when in their bubble dives the truth of the matter is that there was a quest.

The bubbles never gave out quests, they let the players retain their freedom to choose what they wanted to do, this choice was later adapted into a quest an depending on how you acted upon the very choice you took, you would be either among the group that survived or the group that passed.

In Valmus Case if his quest was to be described by the system it would be like so:

[Quest: Avengers Of The Fallen.

Rank: Divine.

Grade: Haven.

Difficulty: Ex

Description: The Actions of the Gods have birthed immense hate from various factions who have banned together to ultimately give them a taste of their own medicine.

Aid the Immortal Beast faction member M''oieri in his path for vengeance, whichever the outcome the gods must fall.

Objective 1: Retrieve an Item from the Great Ocean. Completed.

Objective 2: Reach The Primal Forests Pillar. In progress.

Objective 3: Destroy The Pillar of the Primal Forest. Incomplete.

Objective 4: Meet HIM. Incomplete.

Objective 5: Kill at least one God. Incomplete.

Objective 6: Survive the War and it's Aftermath. Incomplete.

Rewards: Will be awarded after the end of the Bubble.]

Quest ranks are Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythical, Ancient, Immortal, Divine, Primordial and finally Primeval.

All Quests have ranks from the lowest to the highest rank, having a quest on the divine rank hinted on the appearance of Divine beings or divine level items/abilities/information.

Primordial rank quests were a scarcity even in Carl's timeline much less Primeval quests.

Quest grades are related to the scope of affect the said quest would or could they ranged from Village, Town, City, Noble, Duchy, Kingdom, Empire, Continental, Realm/Haven grade.

A quest at the haven grade implies that the whole haven would be affected by the consequences of the quests conclusion.

Quest difficulties are a simplified way if showing the well difficulty of completing the said quest.

Difficulties have their own set dividers since even quests of the same difficulty could have different variation that may raise the level, these variations were denoted using the symbols -, + and plain. Therefore the Difficulties would be as follows:

E-, E, E+

D-, D, D+

C-, C, C+

B-, B, B+

A-, A, A+

S-, S, S+

SS-, SS, SS+

SSS-, SSS, SSS+

Z

Ex.

Therefore taking into account the various factors Valmus' Quest was the third highest in rank being Divine, the highest in grade being Haven and the highest in Difficulty being Ex.

Therefore his achievements if he were to complete all his objectives would be extremely high.
