Andreas opens the door of his expensive car, Roselyn looks at the car impressed, wondering how he could afford that type of car.
Although Andreas could hear her thoughts, he doesn't bother to answer her doubts.
She sits in the front seat, near him.
He drives for a few meters leading to a secret entrance in the back of the school. A camera scans his car and, as soon as it recognizes it, the portal opens.
'I can't believe this is real.' Roselyn thinks while the car stops in front of a huge purple garden, composed of purple floating plants that blow out glittering air.
Roselyn was astonished, she couldn't believe her eyes.
He smiles noticing Roselyn's expression. She was like a child who was seeing snow for the first time. He gets out of the car. Roselyn walks carefully, trying not to step on any flower.
"Can they see us?" She asks.
They definitely can since they start nodding at her. She laughs out loud, it seemed so bizarre, at the same time so incredible.
"I used to spend most of my childhood here, when I was little not many magicians were sent here. Just a few of us survived, people used to haunt us, since they considered us different and dangerous, for this reason, nobody knows our existence now. Because normal people can't accept us, they fear different people. So all I could do was stay here, have a chat with those plants, and then study and work on my powers."
"How old are you?" She asks, trying not to sound rude.
He smiles, he gets that question a lot, but for having lived during the years in which people haunted witches, it was a legitimate question.
'Does it mean that I'm immortal too? I don't want to be immortal'
Being immortal would mean living while all the people you love die. It would mean living all the catastrophes that may happen to the Earth. It would mean having to wander around the Earth forever, with nobody but yourself. And especially, it would mean having to deal with herself forever. And Roselyn was not ready for that.
"I'm very old. I was born in 1430 and I was about your age when people started to haunt us. I am immortal, yes, Roselyn. That's the reason why I'm rich and I can afford this car. I've been saving money for more than 600 years. However, unfortunately, I can't tell you if you're immortal or not, that's something you will possibly achieve in case you become your ultimate essence."
Although Roselyn appreciated his explanation, she couldn't understand what he meant, to her, those were just a bunch of words.
She nods pretending to understand.
She starts to look around the purple garden. The plants had a funny look, they had a ducky snout and their eyes were so little that you could barely see them when standing nearly.
Roselyn leans in to look at one of those closely. The plant smiles and, when she gets close enough, bites her nose.
Roselyn backs off "ouch!"
She massages her nose and frowns in an expression of pain.
Andreas laughs "they're spiteful at first."
"Oh, I noticed!" She says, folding her arms and shaking her head.
"Karty, apologize." He raises an eyebrow looking at the plant.
The creature nods no, laughing lightly.
"Karty, huh? May I ask how old are you?" Rose asks leaning again in.
The flower tries to bite her once again, but this time, Rose quickly backs off and the plant bites itself as a result. The being makes sounds inaudible as Roselyn laughs.
"I am too, Karty. By the way, I'm Roselyn."
Andreas giggles lightly "I can't believe you're squabbling with a plant."
"Girls, it's time." Andreas announces, they all close their eyes. They become phosphorescent, emanating a colorful light, and start singing a melody. A path appears under them, leading to a blue huge portal.
Andreas takes Roselyn's hand and starts walking. His touch makes Rose blush, although she didn't like him much, he wasn't completely indifferent to her.
When the portal opens, an immense office is revealed. The walls of the room were painted in bordeaux and decorated with detailed gold ornaments. There were libraries and a huge desk in the center of the room, a black leather designed chair was situated behind the desk. On the right side, a luxury sofa was filling the remaining part of the room and, in front of it, was standing a glass table with a plant and some ancient teacups on it.
"This is my office." He says, proudly.
Roselyn looks at the room stunned.
'He did save money for 600 years and it shows'
Rose's thought makes Andreas get a laugh.
A tall, very skinny blond girl slams the door, entering the room. "Andreas, why are you ignoring my calls?" She yells.
She raises an eyebrow, as she notices Roselyn's presence. "And you are?"
She demands looking at her from head to toe.
"She's Roselyn. She's an enchantress. She arrived a few hours ago. Not that I own you any explanation at all."
"And since when can enchantresses visit your office on their first day?"
"Since it's none of your business." He finally says with a harsh tone of voice.
"She's the type of girl that you like. Like the sluts you sleep with every Friday night."
Roselyn lifts her face looking straight in the eye of that girl.
"Don't you ever dare to call me like that anymore." She states defiantly. The blonde girl looks at Roselyn impressed, nobody ever dared to talk back to her in that school. She raises an eyebrow and leans in. Looking at Rose from head to toe once again. "Excuse me?" She says.
Andreas, who knew her very well, makes a sign to Rose to remain silent.
Rose ignores Andreas' will, and glares down at her, she was surely not letting that girl got the upper hand.
Andreas understands her intentions so he walks in the middle of them and looks at the girl: "Please stop embarrassing me. I'll call you tomorrow." He whispers, she nods moving one step forward to get close enough to Roselyn, then whispers: "I'm not done with you yet." Then she walks away, smiling to Andreas, who, as a response, rolls his eyes in annoyance.
Andreas closes the door, as soon as she leaves, and locks it.
"I'm sorry. She's Emily, my ex-girlfriend, she's very jealous so that makes her even more intimated by you." He says.
'Why would she be intimated by me?' Roselyn can't think of any possible reason. She's tall, skinny, blonde, green-eyed. She looked like the perfect model who would audition for Victoria's Secret.
"Here the normality is being blond with light eyes. For humans it's attractive but here's .. how can I say.. basic. On the other hand, your long hair."
He touches her hair and sticks his finger in a tress, he runs his fingers through it, crossing all its length. His gaze was cold, as usual, yet his touch was gentle and delicate.
"This Mediterranean Beauty. Brown eyes and brown hair. This is a refined beauty. And your body..."
His touch runs down her hips. His hands were big enough to grab her waist entirely. He looks down, inspecting her curves for some seconds, and then, he looks straight in her eye, while he whispers: "Don't ever try to underestimate yourself again."
His voice seemed to rebuke her, but his intention was different, he was being sweet in his ways.
A cold thrill runs through her back making her blush lightly.
