The closer he got to the sealed terrestrial abyss, the more he felt his body reacting to the sinister aura of the place. Bai Wan calmly followed the trail of black smoke that covered the entire local land. It was difficult to know what he was stepping on, the place was dark and according to what he heard, since people understood it was that no one entered the terrestrial abyss and came out alive.
In addition, it was true, he can feel in his skin that only with his power, he would not live on the first path, but he had the spirit of the demon lord and the blood of the goddess sealed within him. Then, as soon as his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he clearly saw the red rays that ran from one end of the abyss to the other and the dark clouds that covered the entrance. The magic was very powerful, the same magic that sealed chaos for millennia in that place, was the one that guarded the entrance door. The rays crossed so quickly that it was in the blink of an eye that one of those rays cut the air towards him and whipped him. Bai Wan was thrown across the field a little further from the entrance like a paper in the air. His whole body was shaking as if it had entered an electric wave.
As soon as he woke up from the shock his eyes could no longer focus on the entrance to the abyss, everything was just black clouds that covered the sky and the earth, around him demonic souls roamed the skies like pieces of old cloth. This was the most putrid state a demon could ever reach, and seeing that scene filled him with horror. If he could not get through that curtain of black clouds and the red rays that ran through the entrance, his end would probably be like that, to be a fallen soul.
However, he had come as far as any other being had, and he would not give up now. Bai Wan drew his sword and cut the smoke screen that surrounded him and soon saw the entrance to the abyss again. He was about to head towards the lightning when the sound of a very familiar voice caught his eye. The sweet, childlike voice sounded in his mind like a song of death breaking his soul.
- XinXin - Bai Wan lowered his sword and called for the owner of the voice. - XinXin where are you?
- WanWan - the childish voice sounded again when a soul passed him. Bai Wan felt his heart fill with pain; it was his sister's voice.
Her little sister had been killed during the demon clan's extermination. It was just a carelessness of a few hours, while he was in the war field; the celestial clan was massacring his house. The Crown Prince of Heaven had killed his sister and shortly after the massacre, Bai Wan withdrew from the demonic kingdom and hid in the mortal world. He never forgave himself for abandoning everything to flee like a criminal. However, he was young and served his master like a tame horse.
It was the damned war started by the old demon lord, which brought about the decline of the clan. At the time, the heavenly lord had reached a peace agreement between all races, from the celestials, encompassing the fairy clans to the demons. Nevertheless, the demon lord at the time chose to go on with the war and seize the power of the heavens, and with that, he led his entire army towards the border between the celestial kingdom and the demonic kingdom.
The god of war was waiting for everyone with the formation of the white dragon. He had read a formation only in the old writings of his ancestors. Bai Wan had never seen so much power in a single person. The dragon current that covered the skies formed a great barrier of light and everyone inside the barrier died. The god of war alone defeated almost every demonic army and those who remained tried to protect their lord who was alone near the great barrier, but were killed by the heavenly army led by the same alliance as the ten elders who once sealed chaos.
Some managed to escape in time, but when looking back Bai Wan saw that everything had been destroyed by the demon lord's greed, and how foolish he had been to follow him. When he returned home, the entire demonic kingdom had been wiped out by the formation of the dragon of the God of war and his sister had not been spared.
All these years Bai Wan has never been able to close his eyes and think about life without blaming himself, XinXin was his responsibility; she was just a helpless little child. However, her voice was beside him, whispered close to his ears. XinXin was there in that abyss and if he found her soul, he could bring her back to life.
Bai Wan ran after the voice that called him desperately, his sister could come back to life. It was this thought that he had and he was so blind that he almost did not feel his feet lose the ground, it was just that he took another step, but his mind woke up quickly. For a few seconds Bai Wan took a small step and felt that he was about to fall into a deep place. His eyes that previously focused only on his thoughts about his sister and his ears that only heard her voice are now wide-awake.
He had been hypnotized!
As soon as his eyes opened, Bai Wan realized that he was on the edge of an abyss, where the fire was violent and if he fell, he would be burned to death.
He quickly took several steps back completely frightened and fell down sitting with his hand on his heart. His sister's voice suddenly disappeared and again he found himself alone. Gradually he released his breath that he did not feel he was holding.
- The lightning ... - Bai Wan thought aloud to realize that the lightning that hit him made him delirious and worse, he was without his sword, surely he had lost on the way and would never meet again. Then Bai Wan snapped his fingers and a small flame came out of his palm. It was enough to light up the place and get out of that trap he had fallen into. As soon as he returned to the entrance to the abyss, another lightning bolt tried to hit him, but he was faster. He already knew the effects, and would not let touch him again. Then, lightning strikes came at him; Bai Wan tried to dodge them all and realized that if he did not find a way to get through that he would fight forever at that entrance.
Then he stepped back from behind a large rock and watched the rays calm down. According to their analysis, the rays only exalted when they felt the presence of someone or something. He would have to blind the lightning to a specific place to pass. Then he had a quick, absurd and completely crazy idea.
Bai Wan took the mirror he always carried in his cloth bag and ran in the opposite direction to the attacks. The lightning bolts quickly started to hit him, but he was too fast.
The mirror reflected his face and Bai Wan held part of his reflection in there and left the object near the entrance to the abyss. Then he ran towards the entrance and saw when a set of red rays cut the sky above his head to hit the mirror, as soon as he managed to get through the black curtain he saw his old mirror completely shattered. Bai Wan smiled when he realized that a little trick was enough to pass.
- Until the classes on elements were effective. - Bai Wan smiled and adjusted his robe and bag on his back while remembering classes with his former teacher. Mirrors attract lightning and if anyone put their head to work, they would realize how easy it was to get through that trap.
After the adrenaline went, he realized that he was no longer outside the abyss, he had finally entered and the fame of the place did not live up to what he saw at that moment. His face changed from one hour to the next as soon as he really saw what was in front of him.
Piles of demonic bodies were everywhere. It looked like piles of fetid soil had come to life and were screaming for help. Bai Wan tried to follow the path, but everyone held on to his clothes trying to get hold of his body. The rotten smell and the blurred vision made his head dizzy; he was not used to heavy aura after spending so much time in the mortal world.
The sword was no longer with him, so the way was to use his magic. As soon as the souls started to rise to cling to his body, Bai Wan formed a ball of air and pushed everyone away in a hard and sure gesture. The demons began to scream and a dark green smoke exhaled in the air spreading rapidly. The smoke was corrosive and Bai Wan saw this when he saw the walls being corroded when the smoke cut through the space to cover the environment. So he just ran as fast as he could for an escape.
However, the place had no way out, this he realized as soon as he entered and the way was to try the magic he accumulated from Mei Yang and his master. Bai Wan created a barrier around his body and held it while, walking over the piles of bodies in the opposite direction of the green smoke. Nevertheless, it was not enough, the smoke completely covered his vision, but the barrier was of great value, he did not was hit, but the sight of smoke eating away at all fallen souls was not pleasant to see.
- How do I get out of this place? - Bai Wan took another step and his feet sank into a pile of corroded bodies and he was totally swallowed into the deepest part of the room, but his body went through a thick layer of souls until he fell on his back somewhere else under he was. The hard floor indicated that he had fallen into another totally different room.
Soon the enormous light that emanated from the new environment blinded him. He quickly closed his eyes and waited for the light to dissipate from the room. As soon as he was able to focus his vision, he saw that he was in a giant room and there were several statues everywhere. Bai Wan straightened his clothes and got up from the floor.
In slow steps, he continued to observe each of the statues that looked like celestial warriors; it was possible to see by the majesty that the statues lined up and were perfectly sculpted. Altogether, there were ten statues and soon he concluded that it was the ten elders, who sealed the chaos.
However, his feet accidentally stepped on a false floor. His heart almost jumped again with the possibility of falling into another room below, but contrary to what he imagined, a door opened on the other side of the room, he was prevented from proceeding because all statues that once looked majestic, now came to life and turned against him.
At that moment, Bai Wan finally realized that chaos must be in the deepest room in that place, and if he wanted to get there, he would have to go through all the layers of traps created by the celestial warriors.
