Pharai's hair spread across my chest and torso as he soundly slept cradled into my side. His cool breath fanned my skin as I wrapped my arms around him and held him closely to me. I had not slept a wink from the moment he had passed out.
I was too stressed to even try. My energy levels had dropped massively that I had no choice but to turn into my human form to preserve what little energy I had left. Everything in me wanted to kick myself for marking Pharai when I knew we were both so unstable.
But as soon as I smelt the skin of his neck right over his jugular all sense had left my body. I allowed my teeth to turn into their canine form and sunk into his artery which caused his semi-golden blood to flood into my mouth.
