“You finally decided to get your own place, huh?” Ryan asked.
Despite the question and the fact that Ryan had his arms folded when he asked it, there was a smile on his face. Desmond stood in the living room with him and had only just delivered the news to him that Mykel would be there to help him pack and move his things. Honestly, Ryan had taken the news just about as well as Desmond had thought he might. Which only supported his suspicion that he had said something about this to Mykel prior.
“I guess so, yeah,” Desmond said with a shrug.
“Then why are you acting so gloomy about it?” Ryan questioned with a laugh. He threw an arm around Desmond’s shoulders. “This is a good thing. It means you’re getting into something serious. You are serious about him, right?”
“Of course I am,” Desmond replied, suddenly flustered by the question. He pushed Ryan away from him once he felt his cheeks start to heat up. “I just didn’t imagine I’d ever meet someone like him.”
