Chapter 153: Kanna Goes to School

At that moment, Sui remembered he still had a dried monster he hadn't cooked yet. Reaching into his system space, he pulled out the shriveled creature.

"I wonder what kind of monster this will turn into when boiled?" Sui mused to himself.

He set the dried creature in a pot of boiling water. Within minutes, the water began to bubble violently, almost causing the lid to fly off.

Then, a black, mushroom-like creature emerged from the pot, mouth wide open, trying to swallow Sui whole.

Without hesitation, Sui grabbed the newly acquired Cinderella, and with a swift motion, sliced the monster in half.

The dried monster wasn't particularly strong, and Sui, now far stronger than an ordinary person, easily dispatched it.

Just as he was about to examine the defeated monster, Sui noticed something odd about his arm—it was covered in dense scales.

"What's happening?" he muttered, stunned.

"The host's frequent use of fantasy ingredients has caused the dragon cells in your body to reach 5%. This is a normal reaction," the system explained.

"Five percent already?" Sui was surprised. Feeling his body, he noticed he was indeed stronger than before.

"Can I make these scales disappear?" Sui asked. The sensation of scales on his arm felt unsettling.

"Yes," the system replied.

With a thought, the scales on his arm vanished. Relieved, Sui turned his attention back to the dead monster.

"What kind of creature is this?"

—Description: A type of dried monster, exceptionally delicious and a rare ingredient.

"A mushroom this size could last quite a while," Sui mused. The mushroom was as big as two people—quite a valuable ingredient for various dishes.

After finishing up, Sui returned to the apartment, where Tohru and Kanna had already eaten.

Kanna was lying on the balcony, watching elementary school students walking to school, her blue eyes sparkling with curiosity.

"What's Kanna doing?" Sui asked, noticing her behavior. Recently, Kanna had been watching other kids go to school from the balcony. "Could it be that she wants to go too?"

"Oh, Kanna?" Tohru, who was washing dishes, smiled and said, "I think she does. Many dragons have thoughts like that when they're young. I understand."

"Hmm? Really, Tohru? You've had the same thoughts?" Sui asked, intrigued.

"Hmm? I thought you were talking about the desire to exterminate humanity," Tohru replied casually. "Many dragons have that thought when they're young. It's like how human children see an anthill and want to pee on it."

Sui: "..."

"I'm talking about school," he clarified.

"Oh, school. Right." Tohru nodded. "I learned about that online."

"Online?" Sui was once again speechless. Tohru had really adapted well to modern human habits, even browsing the internet.

Feeling a bit sorry for Kanna, Sui walked over to her. "Kanna?"

Kanna turned around, looking at him. "Sui, what is it?"

"Do you want to go to school?"

Kanna's eyes lit up, and her tail twitched in excitement. She eagerly nodded.

Since there were no classes that afternoon, Sui returned to the apartment early and took Tohru and Kanna out to buy school supplies.

"Hurry, Sui! Hurry!" Kanna tugged on Sui's sleeve, pulling him forward impatiently.

It seemed she was truly eager to go to school.

"Wow, do you really need this many supplies for school?" Sui asked, glancing at the long list of required items.

"Definitely," Tohru said, striking a pose like a detective. "There's got to be some kind of conspiracy between the school and the suppliers."

Sui chuckled to himself, thinking about how schools often worked with suppliers. It was amusing that even Tohru, a simple-minded dragon, could guess that.

"Let's buy a pen first!" Tohru exclaimed excitedly, then led them straight to a pet store.

"Tohru, why are we at a pet store?" Sui asked, puzzled.

"Aren't pens made from bird feathers?" Tohru pointed at a parrot in the store, her expression earnest.

Sui was speechless. He then took both dragons to a proper stationery store.

As soon as they entered, Kanna's eyes sparkled at the sight of the brightly colored toys and supplies. It was as if her entire being—or rather, her entire dragon self—was glowing with excitement.

"Sui, what's this?" Kanna asked, holding up a ballpoint pen with curiosity.

"That's a pen. You use it to write," Sui explained.

"Amazing!" Kanna said, amazed. She then picked up a stapler and asked, "What about this thing that looks like a dragon's mouth?"

"That's a stapler," Sui demonstrated how it worked.

Tohru, watching the demonstration, shuddered. "What a terrifying torture device," she muttered.

Once again, Sui was left speechless by Tohru's bizarre train of thought.

"Sui, what's this?" Kanna asked, holding up a seal.

"I know this one!" Tohru cut in excitedly. "This is used to brand slaves and declare ownership!"

Suddenly remembering something, Tohru turned around, baring her back to Sui. "Hurry, Sui! Mark me with your seal!"

People nearby glanced over in surprise.

Sui: "..."

He couldn't help but think Tohru had some masochistic tendencies.

Meanwhile, Emi, hiding behind a bookshelf, was watching them intently, her expression serious.

She had left work early today but had run into Sui by chance. Hearing about Kanna going to school, she decided to follow them.

"Damn it, is there some kind of sinister plot here? Did the Demon King send his dragon to infiltrate the school? Is he planning to kidnap the students or blow up the school?" Emi muttered to herself, grinding her teeth. "I knew it! The Demon King is up to no good!"

After finishing their shopping, Sui, Tohru, and Kanna finally completed all the preparations for Kanna to officially start school.
