Ella
We approach the front desk, where a nurse eyes us curiously.
"We're looking for a patient," I say, keeping my voice polite but firm. "Charlotte Deluca."
The nurse stares at me, her eyes widen, and she seems to recognize me. Plus, I still have my scrubs and doctor's coat on.
"One moment, Ma'am, let me just pull up her information for you," she responds in a shaky voice.
While the nurse works, I turn to Jacob and tell him to call a few of the top doctors in the city and to tell them to come here. He looks at me with a bewildered expression.
"Ella, what are you planning?" Jacob asks, his voice low as if he's trying not to attract the nurse's attention. He raises an eyebrow, looking at me like I've completely lost my mind.
I glance at him sideways and smile, a little amused by his confusion. "I'm getting Charlotte a doctor," I say, keeping my tone casual, though there's nothing casual about the situation.
