"It's not bad. It's just a shame no man was able to keep up with me, but I guess I'll just have to accept the fact all good men were already taken."
Xander leaned back, his lips drawn into a thin line, catching the playful luster in her eyes that wasn't always there before. Although that complex look in her eyes would appear every once in a while, this was the first time Luca didn't bother hiding it.
"Sucks…" he commented, reaching for the wineglass right next to his plate.
"I know, right?" Luca chuckled, picking up her wineglass once again. "It's fine, though. I pursued and prioritized my career. I lost in the race of love, but definitely won in terms of career."
" Love is not a race, but sure." Xander smiled, raising his wineglass as a gesture for a toast. "Cheers?"
"Cheers for what?" another wave of a chuckle escaped her lips. "For being single until now?"
"It isn't that bad."
