The class lasted for two hours, when the class was over, Johnathan turned to Whitney, "this is the note from the previous classes. I organised it and made a copy for you. I know you might not be able to write it all. It's not good for your eyes to be on the screen all the time," he said.
Whitney smiled she did not expect someone to be so nice to her. "Thank you," Whitney thanked him sincerely. Fortunately, her private life was not exposed to school.
"You are welcome. You are one of the best students in our class your Gpa would contribute to how outstanding our class would be at the end of the year," Jonathan said.
Whitney smiled, she did not know that just a simple reason like this could make someone willing to help her. As their class representative, she knew that his result was also outstanding. It was said that like minds get together.
"Would you be available for the next class?" Jonathan asked. He hoped she would not leave so they could spend more time together.
"Yes," Whitney answered. Since quitting her part-time job, she did not have to use her break time to sort for customers.
"That's great. It's already lunchtime, shall we eat together?" Jonathan asked.
Whitney looked troubled, after all. She lived outside the school and did not Remember to bring her cafeteria card. "We can use mine," Jonathan could guess what she was worried about. After all, they had been in the same class for three years. He could count on one hand how many times she had eaten in the cafeteria.
"Thank you..."
"You are welcome," Jonathan said and got up from his seat. Whitney got up, and the two left class together.
"Did you not say he was just making way for her in order not to disturb the class?" Samantha turned to her friend.
Her friend was angry that she was blaming her. She had only guessed why Jonathan made way for Whitney. She could be wrong. Even if she was not happy with Samantha, she did not dare show it.
"Of course, can't you see that Whitney is sticking to him as glue? Everyone knows that Jonathan takes his studies seriously. I heard them talking about lesson notes," she said.
Although she knew it was Jonathan, that took the initiative to talk to her after the class, she could not say it out.
"Marian, the two left the class together. Help me find out if they are going to the library," Samantha said. She knew that Jonathan was fond of reading his books.
"I doubt it's lunchtime," Marian shook her head. She had been helping Samantha keep an eye on him, so she knew he was never the type to skip his meals.
"Are you saying they are going to eat together?" Samantha frowned. Her voice was cold. Marian regretted her words.
"I am not sure, but we can find out if we go to the cafeteria, right?" Marian said. She felt it was a pity to be close to a bossy person, but thinking of the benefits she got, she swallowed her displeasure
When Samantha heard this suggestion, she got up, and Marian followed. The two made their way to the faculty cafeteria. Because of the size of the school, every faculty had a restaurant to make it easier for students to get their lunch. When they arrived, the place was already half filled because it was lunchtime.
"How can we know if they are here?" Samantha raised her brows. She hardly ate in the cafeteria because she felt the food was not up to her standard.
"Jonathan likes to take the window seat. How about we get our order and check that way," Marian pointed in a particular direction where Jonathan sat most of the time.
"That would be a waste of time. We should just walk over and check," Samantha disagrees with her. She did not want to stay there too long
"No, we would look ode walking around like that. Moreover, what did I tell you? Jonathan would not be interested in girls that pester him too much. We have to make it seem like a coincidence," Marian said.
Samantha felt that her suggestion was reasonable. She looked at the queue. It was not long, so she joined reluctantly. Soon it's got their turn.
The lady serving waited for them to pick what Samantha wanted, but she saw the frown on her face. She looked at the food with disdain. When the woman saw this, she was slightly offended, after all, the cafeteria food could not be said to be bad as the cooks had spent their time making the dishes.
"If you don't want to make an order, you can leave," the lady said. She looked past her. Some of the students in the queue also murmured about her behaviour, after all, they wanted to finish eating on time as they had class immediately after lunchtime.
She reluctantly pointed at the rice at the side. The lady did not make any comment and served the plate. Samantha took her train and went to get fruit juice. She wondered why Jonathan would bother to eat in a place like this.
After her turn, Marian did not waste time making her order. The two then walked over to the direction that Jonathan should be seated.
"I hate crowd," Samantha frowned as though the whole world owed her money. Marian did not say anything. She leads the way. She was used to Samantha putting on an air. She bared with it, as she was hoping to use their relationship to move up the social ladder.
"There," Marina used her head to point in a particular direction. When Samantha raised her head, she saw Jonathan eating his lunch happily with Whitney.
"That slut," Samantha cursed under her breath. Many students knew that Jonathan was from a wealthy background, but only she knew how rich his family was, after all, they had run into each other at social gatherings.
"Look, the table next to them is empty. Let's go closer," Marian said as she walked forward. Samantha followed, but she was making plans in her head on how to deal with Whitney.
