Seraphine chuckled softly. "I'm glad you like it. But we can't stay too long—the sun will set soon, and it's not safe to be on the mountain after dark."
I opened my eyes, glancing at her curiously. "Why not?"
"There are things in the dark that even demons fear," she replied, her tone serious. "It's best to be off the mountain before nightfall."
I nodded, feeling a slight unease settle in my stomach. The demon realm was full of dangers, and while I loved a good adventure, I wasn't eager to face something that even Seraphine feared.
We rested for a few more minutes, enjoying the view and the peacefulness of the plateau. But as the sun dipped lower in the sky, casting long shadows across the landscape, Seraphine stood up and stretched.
"We should start heading back," she said, offering me a hand.
