My aunt looked at Danny with sadness, she sighed and started to tell us why Coldrake family was destroyed.

"It was for money, you know that in your family's territory is the largest iron mine of the entire kingdom. Well, duke Vielarosa and marchioness Carionte have had their eyes in that mine for some time now, but they couldn't make a move to steal the mine, not until now.

A few months ago, our kingdom started to suffer financially because of a bad harvest. King Tyler was searching for ways to earn more money to make up for the loses incurred because of the bad harvest. There's where those two came in, they told the king that if he helped them getting the mine, they would give 50% of the mine's revenue to the royal family and they would use their part of this year revenue as a relief found for all the kingdom. When he heard the conditions of the deal, he accepted immediately.

After that, they started to work into creating a crime to frame the Coldrake family, so they could use it as a righteous cause for destroying them. And a few days ago with all the work done, they marched with their troops to your family's territory. All of this was done with absolute secrecy so no other family could act in time."(Vania)

Danny never let go of me as she heard my aunt, instead she hold me more tightly as if she was afraid that she would lose me if she lets go of me. When she finished hearing my aunt, she turned to my grandparents.

"Will you call off our engagement?"(Danny)

My grandparents made complicated expressions, then my grandmother sighed.

"Danny, you know that we really like you, but without a good ascendance, you can't marry into a ducal family. I'm sorry"(Vera)

As response to my grandmother's words, Danny buried her face in my chest and started to cry once more. I embraced her tightly to comfort her. She was going through so much pain. Her whole world just got crushed.

I turned towards my grandparents with my eyes full of resolution.

"I don't want to be rude, but that's not for you to decide. I'll be marrying Danny, you like it or not. Of course that's if she wants to marry me"(Alef)

That's right, I really didn't care about my grandparents opinion and all the things that imply being a noble. After all, that night I have decided that I will be marrying Danny and make her company for lifetime. She is my precious friend.

The moment I finished talking, Danny let go of me and looked me in the eyes, her eyes were still overflowing with tears but she was smiling broadly. Then, she wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me.

"Of course I'll marry you, silly. I've already fallen for you"(Danny)

What just happened shocked everyone, and I mean everyone even master. Their mouths were wide open. Fortunately, neither Rosa, nor her family were present or else this would became a mess.

Danny hugged me once more, then she whispered in my ear.

"I know you don't feel the same way, but give me some time and I'll make you fall for me"(Danny)

I only nod to her in response, because I couldn't say anything else. She was right, I still have feelings for Rosa even though they weren't as strong as before they were still there.

"And you think we'll allow it. Listen Alef, we'll do everything in our power to destroyed this little stupidity of yours"(Forik)

Grandfather stood up and slammed his hands against the table.

"You won't lift a single finger to break their engament Darling, or else you'll have to face me"(MayMay Vera)

Before I could say a single word, MayMay Vera put her hand in grandfather's shoulder and warned him with a firm voice. When grandfather felt MayMay Vera's hand in his shoulder, he cowered and and sat once again.

My mom's and my aunt's jaws dropped because of how shocking were the actions of MayMay Vera.

"I know that you're shocked, but when Orlando ran away from home I promised to myself that I wouldn't make the same mistake twice. I don't want to lose my grandson too"(MayMay Vera)

"Thank you MayMay Vera"(Alef)

I walked towards her and hugged her.

"You're welcome dear, but now you have to comfort your fiancée"(MayMay Vera)

I smile at her, then I guided Danny to my room where we could talk alone. Master tried to exit the living room with us, but for some reason she was stopped by MayMay Vera.

After the discussion pertaining to the engagement between my cute little apprentice and Daniela came to an end. I was going to go to the beasts forest to collect some materials I needed, but I was stopped by Vera.

Shit! They will be pestering for recruiting me into their family. Sigh, I should have fled when I had the chance. Damn me and my stupid curiosity.

"Miss Freya, please take a seat"(Vera)

Because I didn't want to have a pointless discussion, I sat down.

"So, how can the most beautiful woman in the world help you?"(master)

As I asked her that question, she made an expression that I knew too well. Because that was the exact same expression that my cute little apprentice makes before calling me a narcissist. Obviously, my smile twitched

Come on, I'm not narcissistic. It's a fact that I'm a world class beauty!!!

Seeing my smile twitching, she coughed and proceeded to tell me what she wanted.

"Miss Freya, I want to ask you a favor. Could you look after Alef and Danny?"(Vera)

While she was asking me, she bowed to me.

Wow, I really can't believe she's a noble. She actually cares about her family and goes as far as to bow to someone she thinks is a commoner. Fufufu, she is quite amusing, maybe I should tease her a little.

"Why would I do that? I'm just teaching him because I find him amusing. But I wouldn't go so far for him"(master)

I said while glancing my nails to look as disinterested as possible.

When she heard me, she became worried. So, she came closer to me and grabbed my hands.

"Please, I'm willing to give you everything you want. Just keep my grandson and his fiancée safe"(Vera)

A wicked smile suddenly drew in my face, when Vera saw my smile she paled. Hahahahaha, teasing her is so fun, not as fun as teasing my cute little apprentice though.

"That's what I wanted to hear. Whatever I want huh... I just want a single thing. I want my cute little apprentice's freedom"(master)

She was so confused that you could practically see question marks floating around her. Hahaha, I love her expression, she really thought that I was going to ask money or the like.

"I want that my cute little apprentice can decide his future and that includes if he wants to be the heir of Aetos family or not"(master)

I said smugly, and at the next moment, Jessica was squeezing me.

"Sigh, alright. I Vera Aetos swear on Aetos family's honor that I'll let Alef decide his future"(Vera)

I smiled at Vera and ran away. She was so angry that a vein in her forehead was bulging.
