Aftermath (2)

I woke up a little past noon, after I got out of bed, I washed myself with cold water. Then, I went to check if my mom was alright. Seeing that she was still asleep, I headed to the kitchen and started preparing meal.

Once meal was ready, I went to mom's room to woke her up.

"Mom wake up, meal is ready"(Alef)

"Morning sweetheart. I need to wash myself, so I'll be there in a minute"(Jessica)

"Alright, I'll set up the table in the meantime"(Alef)

After 20 minutes, mom entered the room an sat at the table. I serve the meal and seat too.

"Oh, so you made my favorite, vegetable soup with a sausages sandwich. Thank you sweetheart" (Jessica)

Mom smiled tenderly at me.

"I'll hope it'll cheer you up a little" (Alef)

"It did. By the way, Has Lynn's family come by?"(Jessica)

"No, I think they're still searching the debris for anything the can save" (Alef)

"I hope they can save most of their things" (Jessica)

"I hope so too. After, we finished eating, I'll bring them some food and see how's their situation" (Alef)

"Tell them that they should start bringing the things that they already recover to our house. And, when you return we'll go check the injured"(Jessica)

After finishing our meal, mom told me that she needed to distract herself so she'll be preparing medicines until I return.

I head to Rosa's house to deliver them food and see how they were doing.

"Hi, I brought you some food" (Alef)

"Thank you little Alef, I'm sorry about your dad. How are you feeling?" (Auntie Lynn)

Auntie Lynn grabbed the pot and the basket, and put in a table that they manage to recover.

"I'm really sad, but you know, at least my dad died like a true knight, protecting people." (Alef)

Auntie Lynn hug me and caress my hair to cheer me up.

"I'll go call the others" (Auntie Lynn)

She let go of me.

"All right, in the meantime I'll serve the meal" (Alef)

A little while after, auntie Lynn, uncle Roger, Rosa and little Barrick gathered around the table, and started to eat.

"Mom told me, that you should start taking to our house the things you already recover. And after that, I think you should get some rest, especially you, Rosa"(Alef)

"Do I look that bad?"(Rosa)

"You know that's impossible, you're too beautiful to ever look bad. I'm worried that you might collapse, you were helping me cure the injured all night long and that's not exactly an easy job, and after that you came here. So, please have a good rest after this"(Alef)

"Okay, I'll get some rest"(Rosa)

She said in a soft tone and dropped her eyes. Auntie Lynn giggled at the sight of her embarrassed daughter.

"I'll head back now, I still have to check the injured. Oh right, auntie Lynn here's the key of our house. I'll se you later"(Alef)

"Thank you, little Alef. Tell your mom I'll be preparing dinner for you"(Auntie Lynn)

"I'll look forward to it" (Alef)

I left them arranging their things, and walked home.

"Mom, I'm home"(Alef)

"I'll be there in a minute sweetheart"(Jessica)

I put the pot and the dishes into sink. Then, I return to the entrance where my mom was already waiting with a box of medic supplies.

"I'll help you carry that" (Alef)

"Thank you. Let's head to Krugger's house"(Jessica)

Mom and I started to walk towards the chief's house.

"How was the situation of Lynn's family" (Jessica)

"Their house was completely destroyed, but they manage to save most of their things, the only downside is that half of uncle Roger's work tools where destroyed"(Alef)

"Oh well, at least they won't have to start from scratch"(Jessica)

"By the way, auntie Lynn told that she'll cook dinner"(Alef)

"Now, I can't wait to eat dinner. As much as hate to admit it, she cooks way better than me"(Jessica)

"Of course she does"(Alef)

I said in a teasingly manner and chuckle.

"You little rascal. That reminds me, don't even think of sneaking into Rosa's room at night, or else, you'll know what hell is"(Jessica)

"I won't, and I think is more possible that she sneaks into mine"(Alef)

"I don't see any problem there"(Jessica)

"Whose side are you on!?"(Alef)

"Little Rosa's side, of course. Oh, we have arrived to Krugger's house "(Jessica)

"Hey! Don't flee!"(Alef)

After we finished treating the injured, we returned home. When we step into our home, a delicious smell invade our nostrils.

"It smells delicious"(Alef)

"Welcome back"(Auntie Lynn)

Auntie Lynn welcomed us from the kitchen.

"Hey Lynn, did you rest?"(Jessica)

Mom asked with an underlying anger.

"Of course, I took a bath and rest a bit. And, remember that I didn't stayed up all night, so don't be a worrywart"(Auntie Lynn)

Auntie Lynn answered while chuckling. My mom sighed in a sign of resignation.

"Little Alef keep in mind that Rosa's room is the one in front of yours if you want to to sneak in it at night"(Auntie Lynn)

"Mooom!!!!!"(Rosa)

Rosa squeaked behind us.

"Come on, Your mother is just helping you. If you don't act quickly someone is going to steal him from you"(Auntie Lynn)

Rosa turned red and groaned. At the same time, my mom was laughing out loud. I just remained as quiet as possible unlike my mom. But seeing her like this I was convinced that having auntie Lynn's family staying with us will be good for her.
