Katherine had barely slept, her mind reeling with different thoughts plaguing her. She tossed and turned all night, unable to keep still. When she finally fell asleep, the dream came again. This time, the woman came closer, her eyes fixed on Katherine. "It's almost time," she said, and Katherine jolted awake.
It was the third time she had dreamt of the woman, and it was beginning to scare Katherine. What was coming? The question constantly lingered in her mind.
A knock at the door startled her from her thoughts. She walked to the door and pulled it open with a smile on her face, expecting to see Astrid.
The smile slipped off when she laid eyes on Beta Sam instead. "Beta Sam?" She blurted out, unable to hide the confusion in her voice.
The beta chuckled. "You can at least pretend to be overjoyed at seeing me, Katherine," he teased.
"Alpha Kieran has asked to see you. He's in his office," he replied, not minding the way she ducked shyly at his words.
