Encounter That Changed His Life
It was the end of the year 2023, and the end of the
session at the Medical University Rufas went to; Rufas
was on his way home from the university and met a guy
from the same university. He asked Rufas, "Can you
spare me some of your precious time? I need to talk to
you," Rufas replied, "Okay, I am heading towards my
house, which is not too close to here. Just talk to me
while I am walking home." "That's fine with me," he
replied.
My name is Roy Sherman, and I am your classmate. I am
always second to you in every subject. I live with my
sister in a small house. We both grew up together in an
orphanage, and she is in the same university but one year
below us, and she is madly obsessed with you. She talks
about you everywhere, but I do not think it is out of love
for you. It is something else, but I cannot quite
understand.
"Yes, I know you! Talking about your sister, A person
can be obsessed with another for the following reasons
Hate or Love," said Rufas.
"Roy, why are you telling me about your sister's
obsession with me?" Rufas asked.
"Because I want you to be on your guard against my
sister, she is one simple-minded scum who decides
things on her own and makes them happen; so far, she
has tried to barge into a neighbor's house and hurt their
family, but it was because she saw that family's older son
picking up on me. She is kind-hearted but sometimes her
way of doing things changes." Roy answered.
"Sounds interesting to me; hey, I want to meet your
sister. I have some questions for her. If it is suitable, I
want to meet her tomorrow after university," Rufas
asked.
"What? Are you kidding me? I just told you the whole
issue, and you still want to meet her. No, it is not
possible. I cannot let her meet you." Roy answered
aggressively.
"What do you mean by you cannot-, and what is with the
behavior? I was asking you, not forcing you." Said Rufas.
Roy said, "I am sorry for crossing my limits. It is just that
I do not want her to cause you—"
"Here is my place. Let us stop this conversation here. It
was nice meeting you, Roy Sherman; bye." interrupted
Rufas.
The next day a girl approached Rufas. She was happy to
meet him in person Rufas asked her are you Roy's sister
she said yes, I am that buffoon's sister, Rufas chuckled
and told her I had met him. Still, he is one immature guy;
(clears throat); okay, coming back to the subject, I have
heard from Roy about you, and he did not want us to
meet.
"I will answer your questions, but first, let me introduce
myself; my name is Clara Sherman." She spoke.
"Ok." He replied.
"So let me guess what my brother told you about me. He
must have said that I always talk about you and can do
what a normal person cannot?" she said.
"Huh! You knew about it. Were you eavesdropping
when we were talking on our way home yesterday?"
Asked Rufas.
"No! not. It was just a clear guess seems like I hit the
jackpot. I like you and the way you view your
surroundings. I still remember your speech for freshers
last year. In that speech, you said one thing that touched
my heart: 'Life is unpredictable, so never lose hope either
you are alone, or you have someone by your side. You
must keep moving without hesitation because hesitation
will nullify the effects of your arduous work.' I was in
despair then, and your words gave me hope. Knowing
my brother, He hates you and does not like me talking
about you because you are better than him in everything.
He is jealous of your extraordinary skills, which is why
he is spreading lies about me." Clara answered.
"Oh, I see, so this was the matter all alone and the reason
for not letting you meet me, and I am honored that my
words helped you to find the light in this darker world.
So, Ms. Clara, it was nice meeting you. My suspicions are
cleared now; it is your brother whom I must be wary of
from now; Goodbye." Rufas told.
"Uh, wait, you did not tell me your answer?" asked Clara.
"What was the question? Ms. Clara" asked Rufas.
"Umm! Can you like me back?" Clara shouted.
"I am sorry, but lately, I have a lot on my mind, and I
don't really like you back, so I will politely decline your
proposal," Rufas answered.
Clara smirked and said, "Did I just get rejected? Life is
rude here, and I thought it would be a win-win situation."
"I don't mind being friends with you Ms. Clara," said
Rufas.
"Just came to my mind you are a loner, I do not mind
being friends with one, hehe," Clara laughed.
"Beginning friendship with informality sounds rude,"
said Rufas.
"I am leaving now Rufas Edgar; see you later," said Clara.
They parted ways after this lengthy discussion, and Clara
started hanging around with him daily Rufas was
annoyed at first, but then he began to change, and their
friendship grew more robust, but Roy was furious to see
them both growing together; he started picking on Rufas,
but her sister always gave him a peace of mind and then
he stopped giving Rufas a hard time.
The encounter with Clara Sherman changed him a lot.
The pain from the death of his mother never faded, but
the pain he received from his father started to fade away.
He started enjoying his life more and his feelings for
Clara changed after some time. He started liking her but
was very scared to tell her, and one day he found the
courage to say to her, but this time she denied it and said,
"I am marrying."
"It is still not too late. You can still call off your marriage,
Clara," said Rufas.
"No, I cannot; it's too late now, Rufas," replied Clara.
"Who is the guy you are marrying? Is he better than me?
I do not think so! I will talk to him," said Rufas.
"No! You cannot do that," Clara growled.
"I will just threaten him—," Rufas mutters.
"Because the guy I am marrying is you," Clara
interrupted.
"Huh! Wait, are you serious? I cannot believe this; please
tell me this is not a dream. My heart will explode," Rufas
said happily.
"Yes, Rufas, I am serious, and my buffoon brother also
approved of our relationship. I was teasing you because
you once rejected me," said Clara.
"Ooh! Revenge, that was a nice one, but I am thrilled
that I will get to marry such a beautiful and humble
person who changed me. I am looking forward to it,"
Rufas responded.
Rufas and Clara both got married after completing their
education, and they move to another town named Foley
and start living a peaceful life.
