The creator of Magic is Back as the Dual Magician

Professor Milles, a certified genius and creator of the current magic system. Misha Raycraft, the 11 years old adopted magic-less son of the president. What do they both have in common? They are the same person. As a genius, professor Milles created the neural system, the origin of all magic which made the world reliant on it. It came as a blessing but professor Milles knew the truth - it was a curse that would doom everyone. To prevent this, he decided to travel in the future and look for a way to destroy the Neural system once the world was stable enough. Now, as Misha Raycraft, the 11 years old adopted magic-less Type Null adopted son of the president, he had a duty to carry out his mission. But before he could, he is stopped by a vision of world destruction and a legacy to prevent it. Now embedded with unimaginable magic powers, it is in the hand of Misha Raycraft to save the world from that destruction while hiding away his magic all the while. However, the task would become even more difficult as time passes on and more and more people begin getting involved in the salvation of the world. He would do it all, even if he had to become a Villian in the process. However, to do this he would need allies in this new period. Especially those who could help him out. But personal relationships of other people, namely - Xion and her harem of power female magicians hailed to have the best potential might hinder Milles and his journey. (Both the harem and Yuri are in the background for now and not with the MC but they will become very important elements in the future.)

First system class

"Misha Raycraft, come with me. The rest of you are free to go for now. Make sure you are in your second-half class on time" Milles cursed his bad luck at being called out.

Everyone in the class was looking at him with the same expression of 'someone's in trouble' and Milles could not help but blame the doctor.

Thankfully, Yusui was not foolish enough to talk in front of all the students.

Milles was led to a small teacher's room right adjacent to the classroom with a lot of magical protection. There was a small camera Milles could spot and he instantly felt his guard rise.

"Don't look to be so on edge Mr. Raycraft. You are not in trouble. In fact, it's quite the opposite" if this was Yusui's way of reassuring Milles then it was not working.

Milles felt more on edge with those words than he had without them.

"I'm sure you have already taken a look over the course booklet and noticed a lot of magics related activities. Now, I'm a doctor Mr. Raycraft and I am worried about your general health should you be allowed to participate in these activities" ah, so it was this type of questioning.

Milles instantly felt most of the tension blees out of his mind but he did not allow his body to relax. He needed the doctor to believe that he was still on edge about this topic.

"I will be alright. The most that would happen is that I would fail to complete them at all" Milles was not worried about those activities at all.

Well, truth be told, he had forgotten all about them until the doctor had reminded him. His mind had been too occupied with other things.

"I understand and this is why I want to advise you about something. Since your situation is so unique and your classes are all system based, you should apply for the event planning committee. I believe it would serve you well and the principal is willing to make an exception for you" Milles felt something in him click.

Of course, the planning committee was always an option but he had not considered it.

"Here, this is all I could pull up on the topic. Give it some thought and get back to me within a week" the doctor handed Milles a flyer and ushered him out of the room.

Milles focused on the flyer in his hand.

The event planning committee was not something Milles had considered becoming a part of till now and it was mainly because of the requirement needed to join them.

One had to be a fourth-year or above to join it since anyone younger could not be trusted to handle such tasks.

But maybe he should consider it now. No one needed to know he was a part of the committee and his name would be crossed out automatically from the participation list.

Besides, being part of the committee also came with some added benefits his way and Milles could use this advantage.

There were disadvantages as well to this plan. Namely, the increase in surveillance and active interaction.

But Milles would not be expected to use magic if he became a part of the committee and that was the biggest selling point about this offer.

"I miss the times when the most complex decision of my day was what to eat for dinner" it was not like those times had been easy.

There had been a lack of money, a lack of resources, and the sibling pair had to struggle every day to get through.

But it had also been less lonely because Milles had Maria with him.

But now he was alone and had heavy decisions to make. Decisions that would change the way Milles would approach the whole situation and it made him feel scared.

Milles felt himself wander around the campus, looking at various attractions as well as machinery available to him. The system was all too happy to inform about various technologies Milles had not been aware of.

It had been a good time but it was also the time to start heading to his second-half class. This was the class he had been half excited about and dreaded as well.

It was finally time for the system study class.

It was situated across the academy, almost abandoned in nature. Despite the clean surface of the building front, it gave off a feeling that it did not see usage much.

Milles knew that the subject had been all but abandoned by the students for the more 'magical' inclined studies, but he had not expected the situation to be this bad.

There was no one else but him when he arrived in the classroom. Even the teacher was not there. Was there no one else here or had Milles made a mistake in his destination?

"System, this is the place, right? How many students have been enrolled in this course?" Milles could not help but wonder about the situation.

He would not have thought much of it had it not been for the feeling he had.

[The course currently have 2 actively enrolled students]

2 was not a bad number in the class of 30. So this course was not as hopeless as he had initially thought. But it did make him wonder where the other person was.

"Can you track down the other person's location? They should be here by now" maybe they were in danger. Or maybe they were not even at the academy yet.

[Scanning for location….

Location found. The user is currently out of the academy as a part of a 4th-year compulsory course]

Fourth-year compulsory course? Fourth-year?

Milles suddenly felt as if there had been some miscommunication between him and the system. But before he could ask more about the topic, the door of the classroom decided to open with a bang and came in the shortest adult Milles had ever seen.

"No on this year as well. Good, another year of rest. I don't know why that idiot decided to take this as an elective. Likely to waste my time" the female, maybe the teacher, complained.

She did not even look at the class before turning away. Was she seriously leaving?

"E-Excuse me. I enrolled in this course this year. My name is Misha Raycraft" Milles had never seen anyone jump that without magic before in his life.

The female looked deadly white when she turned around to face him and Milles watched as she paled even more once her eyes met his own.

"I-I must be dreaming. This is a nightmare and I am about to wake up any second now. Hang in there Irene, this will be over in a few seconds" the female was breathing heavily and Milles felt amused.

He knew it was not right to just stand there while someone had a mental breakdown in front of him but he could not help it.

The situation was just too funny.

"Professor, this is not a dream. My name is Misha Raycraft, the first year who enrolled in your course as a major" Milles tried to clear out the misunderstanding but the female finally calmed down.

"Ah yes, the first-year student. I remember you now. I was half expecting it all to be a joke on the principal's side since no one had opted to major in this course in years" The teacher explained and Milles frowned.

He was sure that there had been one other student in the course as well.

"So, why are you here? A dare? A feeling to try out something new? If so then you might as well quit now. There is a reason why so no one takes this course anymore. I'm afraid that we are heading into a time where we won't have people to handle the neural system any longer" the teacher seemed almost bitter at the revelation.

Milles could not help but find this situation odd.

There should be many people interested in the neural system but the most helpful course had no other student but him.

"I am genuinely interested in this subject and this is kind of my only option here. I'm a Type Null" Milles watched as the teacher digested his words and the way her eyes shifted at his words.

"Really kid? You got the short end of the stick then. Still, this course is not easy at all and the neural system is ever-changing. Most people don't find it appealing to dedicate their whole life to something like this" Milles knew how complicated the neural system could be.

And how could he not after giving a whole lifetime to it?

Still, this was something he had to do.

"I'm sure I want to do this. I did some self-study on this topic before and I'm sure I can handle it. Also, isn't there suppose to be a senior in this class as well? I think I heard someone mention it before" Milles only had a few seconds before he was faced with the ugliest look he had ever seen in his life.

"That idiot is not a student of mine. Choosing this course as an elective and then winging it. He's not even passing this course and is a waste of my time. Do not bring him up again" Milles got the sign.

It was better to not mention this again after all.
