Chapter 10

Lucas Avalon POV

My son was sitting right infront of me, his white hair and crimson eyes were the same as mine. As a father I was proud knowing my son would be able to lift his head high in the future, he had talent, looks and status. But with his talent, people would call him a monster when he grew older. They did the same to me, it devastated me, I always wanted to be a hero of justice. But the people who saw me fight were scared of me. They despised me, it took me months to get over it. I was broken, knowing that no matter how many lives I saved I would cause an even greater number of deaths in the process.

Well I always knew that I took more lives than I saved, but I never really hit me that I was taking lives until I met 'them.'

My son would likely be forced into situati.ons where he'd kill many. I as his father wanted to prepare him, my father died early on so I'm not entirely sure as to what a father is meant to do. But I'd like to think that doing what I did will help him understand what he'll be capable of.

I walked out of his room after bidding him farewell and asking how he was. I sighed to myself, remorseful for being such a useless father

Reinhardt POV:

'What a useless person, I'm not sure if I've ever had a father but even I can tell that he's a horrible father. If this is how he talks to me, who anyone else would be praising right now. Then I don't want to imagine just how he'd talk to the original Reinhardt who never managed to awaken his bloodline.'

I looked at my hands and focused on the image of a sword, then a pitch black sword was made however it dissipated almost immediately. The Rosenblade bloodline, it would be useful. After all, 'The Reaper' could never have too many weapons.

Today was just the same kind of day as any other, it's just that I wouldn't be training in combat so as to let my body adjust to my bloodline ability and as to not overexert my Mana core. I went through my classes as always, I was taught to read, write and do mathematics all to an extremely high standard.

Commoners also had their own schools but of course they didn't have as good resources and teachers available to them. As such, nobles were usually far ahead of the commoners most of the time, I say most of the time because there were certain talents in this world who's status didn't matter. Talent could surpass status in terms of importance, a baron may be considered more important than an Earl if he has the necessary power, authority and man power to back it up.

Of course that's never actually happened but it was always a possibility.

This world was fair in my eyes, if you had a factor that set you apart from the rest you could make your way through the ranks and become above the rest. Although I was technically above the rest anyways so it didn't really matter since my status and talent were on par with royals.

I went to my classes and went on with my days, training and studying, days, weeks and then months went by with almost nothing happening. I had been trained extensively with multiple weapons, of course I already knew how to use them perfectly but the Avalon Swordsmanship style was interesting.

I knew over a hundred styles for the sword, however the Avalon style was still among the best ones due to its nature. My father had to teach it to me personally due to only the head and the heir knowing it. Lot's of swordstyles were like this, sometimes the basics of a swordstyle would be given to the public and a school was made, and the higher your rank the more access you'd get to more hidden techniques and so on.

The Avalon sword style wasn't your regular sword style, even the basic forms were powerful. However even I couldn't use the advanced forms, the sword style was different to others and it qas manifested rather than taught. By that I meant that you couldn't be taught the intermediate and higher ranking forms due to everyone's being different.

The style were something that were of immediate necessity to me. I didn't need anymore swordsmanship styles, this was just for show If I was being honest.

Today was a rather important, it was Angelica's birthday. This was basically an international event, it was the birthday of the sole successor of the Holy Empire. As the sole heir of the Archduchy It was my duty to attend it.

The maids had prepared extravagant clothes that could exclusively be found within the Empire. It was a custom of the Empire's to wear such clothes to a royal's birthday. Of course, that was only true for higher ranked nobles of count rank and above. This was to avoid shaming the lower ranked heirs who would never be able to afford new clothes as expensive as these every single year.

I was promptly taken to the Imperial capital as soon as I was ready, Lillian was also ready so we went together. The Imperial Castle was as impressive as usual, its grandeur was a bit overwhelming but it wasn't something that I wasn't used to. I was respectfully greeted by the servants of the Godharts and me and my sister were escorted to the children's hall.

We were here to make friends and greet the Princess before the main event. Lillian would be bullied here If this was the original story, after all the Flamesworth family had practically disappeared and in the original story Reinhardt didn't really care about her. Meaning she had no authority despite being the future of head of the Flamesworth family, and she had no support from Reinhardt due to him being useless.

And she didn't let anyone know of this, so whenever she went to things like parties she'd be bullied which eventually lead to her completely despising humans. I couldn't blame her, after all, regardless of what race they were up against.

Humans were were rather annoying creatures, even if I had emotions I'm sure I could slaughter thousands of them without so much as batting an eye. I myself was human, but I didn't have the characteristics that made one a human like emotions and a conscience. I was closer to being a machine than a human psychologically speaking.

Well that was irrelevant for now, all I had to do was to help Lillian. She could probably take down her bullies on her own, but trauma was an annoying thing. I would start brainwashing her and administer some basic therapy after this little event. I didn't want to break my precious pawn after all.

When I entered the children's hall, a rather large number of kids looked at me. Some of the girls made some strange expressions. I think that it was a 'cute' expression, but I honestly don't know. I don't react to 'cute' things so it's hard for me to understand what is and isn't cute.

Lillian smiled at me and went off on her own after reassuring me that she'd be fine. I naturally went to meet Angelica, when I went there, she was in a chair along with some other children. Then a group of boys came in rather abruptly, they didn't kneel as this was a meeting between children and wasn't a formal meeting. However they did do a small bow. It seemed that they were trying into a conversation and were trying to make themselves seem equal to Angelica and her little possey of friends.

Angelica greeted them and had a conversation with them. She was being polite as she was the sole successor of the Angel's, she had to be a magnamous and patient person who's actions reflected her Angelic origin.

She made eye contact with me and smiled wryly, she seemed to have found an exciting way to get out of her boring conversation. And it seemed that I would be a part of her grand scheme, what a fucking honour.
