Chapter 150 (; different story of new characters)

The room was barely lit at this time of night she sneaks by a few shelves lined with books and goes in front of a large portrait of her great grand mother where she mutters a spell and the pictures paint turns into a whirlpool of color.

Layla steps through where she is now in a small corridor, she starts quickly but quietly walking up some steps leading her upstairs where she stops at a few portraits. They are like a two way mirror where she could see and hear but no one could do the same with the portraits, Four of her guards are standing in the hallway with their weapons in hand also two of her maids are standing a few feet from them.

" if we don't find her soon all of us will pay with our lives including you two when May wakes up she'll be able to tell who poisoned her, the only way is to have the prince become king. May cannot disobey him then, we need to spread out and if you see her act normal when you lead her to one of us" one guard that she helped out to become a castle guard said, she frowns when she notices all the ones she was good to and helped out of tough situations are betraying her.

" May even protects herself when she's knocked out so there's no way around it, I'll lead Layla here so I'll check this floor with two guards that are to stay far away from me but can quickly get to me if I find her" Hailey said stepping from the shadow causing her to shudder seeing the girl who she saved from the street, her heart aches at the betrayal.

Layla has heard enough and she needs to wake May up as quick as she can to save her loved ones and herself, she quickly goes to the end of the corridor then mutters another spell at a portrait that is identical to the one in the library.

When she steps out of it she is now standing inside of Mays room, she quickly locks the door throwing up a barrier to block anyone from entering.

Layla runs to the sleeping May and shocks her with a healing light spell over and over again, she even shocks her with a few lightning spells where May cannot attack her she's the only one in this world who could get away with this. Layla lays her hands that shine a bright white light over Mays body pulling out the poison slowly but surely.

Syl and Cynthia slowly make there way through the castle stealthily taking out guards and dragging their bodies in unused rooms while knocking out the servants they come across since they didn't know which ones aren't corrupted.

" she's in Mays room " Cynthia said while they met up with Sid and his two sons, one was a stable worker while the other was a soldier. The five quickly make their ways upstairs where they run into four guards checking rooms while the maid Hailey stood watch over them, Sid straightens his posture and tells the others to keep quiet.

" Ma'am the lower floors are clear there is no signs of any of the girls" Sid said as Hailey glares at him then sighs, she points down the hallway.

" check those rooms make haste " Hailey said while staring at the two that are wearing high grade armor, Sid smacks the two in the back of the head lightly.

" go on with your brothers" Sid said as his son's and the girls make their way down the hall, the boys split up along with Sid acting like their checking the rooms while Syl and Cynthia make their way to Layla's room to enter a hidden passage where they can enter Mays room.

" I'm so glad Layla showed us this passage" Syl said as they enter inside a corridor and quickly make their way to Mays room.

When they enter they see a pale Layla standing over Mays body with sweat on her forehead, Cynthia and Syls helmets and masks disappear from their heads.

" Layla thank the divine your alright" Syl said when they heard the door rattling, they both aim their bows at the door and look back at Layla.

" I put up a barrier...it's not gonna last long since I'm draining myself trying to get this poison out, I'm close to finishing" Layla said as the door was taken off of it's hinges.

Hailey stood in the doorway while Syl and Cynthia hid on each side with their backs pressed against the wall, Hailey had a worried look on her face.

" Layla...your ok come on we need to get you to your guard their are assassins in the castle" Hailey said with worry in her voice when she tries to step through the door and hits a invisible wall hitting her nose.

" Shit !" Hailey hissed out then rubs her nose, Layla opens her eyes glaring at someone she considered a friend and would have done anything for her.

Hailey steps back when she seen Laylas eyes that was full of hatred, she looks behind her seeing ten guards coming toward them and she smiles sadistically.

" Layla your guard is here now drop this barrier so we can get you to safety" Hailey said in a calm voice as the men approach her, she could see May was starting to wake from her forced sleep.

" shit bust this down before the witch wakes up !" Hailey shouts at the men who take their swords and spears hitting the barrier, Hailey pushes them out of the way as she starts throwing high powered fire spells at the barrier.

" take off the armor so they won't suspect Sid and his sons" Syl said as Cynthia nodded, they step out from the wall and back away from the door making eye contact with Sid who nods at them.

" Hailey how dare you betray Her after everything she's done " Cynthia hissed at the girl who starts laughing at her, Syl glares at the girl while putting certain things together that she didn't notice together.

" who are you to speak to me about betrayal-" Hailey was saying when Syls laughter cut her off, she shakes her head wiping away fake tears trying to buy them time for May to wake up.

" you really think that Dylan will be with you for helping him...how nieve can someone be and you know my father has a life and death contract with him and he will or shall I say can only have me for a wife" Syl said smacking her hand on her thigh, Hailey stares at her with hatred.

" your lying...he plans on getting rid of you to marry me!" Hailey shouts out throwing wind spells and fire spells at the barrier as it starts to fade in and out by sparks flying. Cynthia mutters a spell as a water wall that was churning to where it would take someones hand off was now in the doorway. They aim their bow guns waiting for the water wall to stop, when it does they start firing arrows one after another hitting four guards dead center in their foreheads. Hailey had her back against a wall along with Sid and his sons while three of the guards pulled out shields. Cynthia aims at their feet burying an arrow in each one, they drop their guard as Syl shoots one in the head. The other two limp their way backwards while Hailey shoots a fire spell at them, Cynthia uses a water spell to summon a shield that counters her fire ball. Six more guards show up running past Sid and his sons as arrows hit and kill two of them right off.

" Come on Layla " Cynthia shouts as she throws two wind blades at two of the soldiers who are holding shields cutting both of their feet off. They fall to the ground then take arrows to their heads, the bow guns are now out and the girls unsheathed their swords as four guards enter the room with Hailey.

" I'll take the bitch while you protect Layla " Cynthia said nodding at Sid and his sons who are behind them, Sid swings his sword slicing into one of the guards back while his son buries his sword in his chest.

Hailey throws a fireball that was doused with Cynthias water ball, while Sid and his sons are now standing against each of their opponents.

Syl looked at the smaller boy and throws a wind blade slicing the soldiers leg making him fall to the floor while the boy stabs his blade through his neck.

Hailey smirks at Cynthia while she charges one of her dark spells, she stands in front of Cynthia.

" ehh I remember when we were younger of how much you hurt her, she was completely broken that her mother had to basically erase those dreadful memories. I was angry at you for the longest time until Dylan came to me and we fell in love and I really could see why you betrayed her." Hailey said with a laugh that would make you cringe, they've known this girl for eight years and it's like their talking to someone they've never met.

"SHUT UP!" Cynthia screamed throwing a powerful water spell that Hailey blocked with a dark sphere, the water blade was so strong that she almost didn't manage to block it. Syl was nervously watching as Sid cut a soldiers head off but not before he was stabbed in his stomach, the two boys were overpowering the last soldier as the eldest drove his sword straight into the man's heart. They pull Sid over to Syl who healed him, she then goes by Cynthias side, Hailey smirks at the two girls when she throws a overpowered dark Arc that could cut four of them in half when a bright light engulfs the blade and it disappears. May stood up from the bed as she threw a ball of light hitting Hailey and throwing her into the wall behind her, Layla falls to her knees. Cynthia runs over pulling Layla into her arms and kisses her passionately, Layla glares at her for a minute then smiles softly as she kisses Cynthia deeply. May puts shackles made of light magic on Hailey, she then walks over to Layla then picks her up and lays her down as she presses her hand that shines white on her forehead.

" Sid can you point out the ones who worked with Dylan and my father, even if they didn't intervene but still knew" Syl said walking over then she pats the old man on his shoulder.

" you and your sons have done a great job, I will make sure you are rewarded and she'll need people like you protecting her in the future" Syl said looking over at Hailey who is knocked unconscious, she doesn't know how Dylan got a friend like this and she understands why Cynthia did what she did to protect Layla just as she married him to fool her father.

Margo and Viv come into the room, Viv smiles seeing Laylas ok and runs over hugging her tightly. Cynthia gets up moving away from them, she notices the way Margo is looking at Viv and decides right now isn't a good time to check her suspicions.

May has already summoned the queens guard who is loyal or they'd die the second they betray her. With Sid's help they rounded up over eighty people and May will have several long days making everyone who is working here to make the same contract or to be let go or worse dealt with.

Layla slept for the next couple of days while Syl and Cynthia stayed by her side and Margo stayed by Viv, Cynthia motions Syl outside of the room.

" have you noticed how Margo and Viv are acting since that night " Cynthia said while Syl smiles softly and nods her head, she glances back at the door.

" I guess when we went through all of this and when they decided they could no longer wait to see if we were alive, they came out only to be surrounded. When the queen guard showed up they almost died together and I guess they fell in love with each other as friends Cynthia don't get your hopes up ... she loves Layla and she also loves all of us just not like Layla " Syl said, Cynthia could definitely understand, but she knows that Layla really liked Viv and she doesn't want to see her side. Layla was leaning by the door and heard their discussion, at first she frowned then she thought back to the feelings she felt when Cynthia watched her and at the pond when Syl kissed her. There was feelings she felt strongly for the two, more so than what she felt for Viv in a romantic sense and she needs to have a talk with her sooner than later. The two girls walk back in the room to see Layla awake and both of them shared a oh shit look, wondering if she heard them talking.
