Chapter 75: Let There Be Light, Part 1

Intense light glowed all around Cianne as she floated in nothingness. It felt familiar and nurturing, though she couldn't remember feeling this way. However, she just knew that everything was alright. How she knew, she wasn't sure because her mind was a little cloudy.

Where she was, well, Cianne wasn't sure of that either. Yet, her instincts told her that she was safe inside the glow. The light grew brighter and felt warmer, and Cianne had to shield her eyes but she was too curious to close them completely.

As the brightness faded, solid ground replaced what she would describe as nothingness. She took a step forward and a room became visible. The faint smell of cinnamon, an aroma Cianne once loved, perfumed the air around her. Memories flowed over her, all of them of happy times.

It reminded her of. . .

Cianne didn't move as she realized where she now stood. Her heart swelled, and her hands itched to touch furnishings she hadn't seen in years.

"Home," she sighed.
