Vivian excused Cassius' questioning, unable to muster the venom to chastise him. The fact that Oma, the ancient blind woman who was their Augur, had only spoken seven other times in her long life was too momentous to stress over the little things.
On that quiet Sunday morning, the frail-looking woman had arrived unannounced and cemented what Vivian had to do.
The Augur, or Oma, was the Coesen version of Prophesier and her words were more precious than the rarest of diamonds to their people. Vivian knew that Cassius wanted to find Cianne as much as she did. It was a comfort considering his history with Cianne's father, but Oma was specific when she said that 'the boy must be the one to save Cianne.'
The problem was, Vivian assumed that 'boy' was Whodai and that was why she brought him to West Hills a few nights past. To her utter shock, she soon realized 'the boy' was none other than Tristan Bertram.
"Cassius," she said gently, in a manner she rarely used, "how many this time?"
