Chapter 37... Home

They got to where two cars were waiting. Two guards were standing by the car and he knew it was his father's doing. His mother didn't know he was returning home but his father did and David hated it when his father gave him a grand entrance after every journey back home but the old man just didn't care.

David kept glancing at his wristwatch and waited until Joanna reached him. One of the guards was trying to open the door for them when David stopped him.

"Give me the key to this car. I got somewhere I need to be. Drive Mrs. Anderson back to the house". He quickly took the key and got into the car.

"David you can't....." Joanna started to say but her voice was cut off by David's car as he zoomed off.

Once again he abandoned her, It reminded her of how he left her at the church on their wedding day. It felt like years ago. Her stomach lurched with disappointment.
