Chapter Four
Rachael clasped her hand over her mouth. She just got married to the only son of the most powerful family in New York.
" Are you that surprised ma'am?" Juliet asked.
" No...no..." Rachael stuttered, still surprised about the whole thing. She still needed to thank him for defending her. She can't remember the last time someone defended her like that.
" I think you should take a seat for Dinner" That deep voice interrupted her thoughts as she turned her head, she saw him rolling his wheelchair in her direction.
" Oh...yes less... I should" She promptly answered.
She sat down and didn't know why she was feeling awkward. She couldn't even let her gaze meet his. His eyes were bright and stunning. Even though she had a heartbreak today, she felt relieved by merely glancing at his eyes.
"Thank you for earlier" She murmured.
"Oh no you don't have to, I would have done that for anyone" Lucas replied instantly, crashing the hope of Rachael feeling special.
" Oh..." She felt somewhat disappointed but didn't want to let it show.
" It is fine. Anyone would have still thanked you"
" Let's eat" He replied, shoving off the previous conversation.
Rachael picked up the cutlery as her mood changed instantly. She had forgotten for a while what she passed through. Her father saw her as a tool for his business. Felix would betray her because he couldn't get into her pants.
What is so special about being intimate? She trusted Felix and waited for the right time but what he did broke her entirely. Rachael felt her heart crashing into a million pieces. She kept still and stared into the space. She had forgotten for a while that she lived with another person now.
" Are you okay?" He asked after seeing that she didn't eat for a while.
The words hit her as she became active again. It felt like she had a blackout.
" Of course I am...." She answered and promptly forced a slice of sandwich into her mouth. Suddenly she felt a warm hand on her cheeks as she lifted her gaze to him. She felt utterly speechless and just stared at him for a while. Her gaze mixed with warmth and chaos.
Lucas quickly took his hands out "You had a slight tear on your cheeks. Are you okay?" He asked as Rachael turned her gaze away. The atmosphere suddenly became awkward, and she was a little embarrassed.
" I am...." She mumbled and covered her cheeks with another slice of sandwich.
" I need to shower first...." Lucas said and rolled his wheelchair out. Rachael sighed heavily and looked at the dishes. She had no appetite or what so not. Lucas seemed nice, but her agenda was to leave the marriage and escape after a month.
Rachael couldn't tell how she felt.
" Ma'am, are you not eating anymore?" Juliet asked with concern.
Rachael shook her head. "Where is my room? I need to shower first...." She answered in a calm tone.
" Upstairs. You are staying with sir Lucas ma'am"
"What?!" Rachael asked in surprise.
" Aren't you legally married?" Juliet added amidst her shock. It always flipped Rachael's mind that she was forced to marry a crippled man.
" Yeah right" She gave a curt nod.
" I guess it is this way?" She asked pointing upstairs.
" Yes ma'am. I can escort you" Juliet offered in a welcoming manner.
They both went upstairs and Juliet pointed out the room to her as she entered. She gasped in awe. She had never seen a room so gigantic and massive.
" Oh my jingles'' these were the words that gently escaped Rachael's lips. The room was massively decorated and it had a king-sized bed. Rachael was still admiring the space until she heard something that seemed like a sound from the shower.
Her eyes turned to the bathroom immediately. She saw a huge figure standing tall and she got scared.
' An intruder perhaps' She thought. Although Lucas left she had no idea where he might have gone. That can't be Lucas, wasn't he crippled?
Different thoughts crept into Rachel's mind as she picked up a bat inside the room and slowly tiptoed to the bathroom. She opened the door and lifted the bat to hit him.
" You pervert!" But the bat fell from her hand as her gaze met with him. He was completely naked.
" Ahhhhhhhh!" She shouted in surprise as Lucas quickly covered her mouth. She was trying to make a subtle noise with her mouth, but he held her mouth to prevent her from screaming.
Lucas wasn't crippled! But why is he pretending to be?
"Don't scream...." He reacted in a low voice and glanced outside to see if anyone heard her shout.
" I..." He whispered as words escaped him. Rachael was still making a subtle noise in shock even though Lucas's hands were in her mouth.
" Calm Down..." He whispered again. They were closer than ever and Lucas was naked. All he wanted from her was for her not to scream. Rachael nodded her head like a lizard. All she wanted was for him to let go of her.
Lucas thought she had calmed down and taken him off but at that moment Rachael slipp
ed and tried screaming "Ahh..." Lucas quickly crashed his lips with hers.
