Sutton blinked her eyes multiple times, trying to clear out the image her eyes were creating. She couldn't believe her eyes. Jacob Mackay was standing before her in the flesh and blood. Sutton's breath caught in her throat. Words ran through her head and she urged them to spill through her lips, but her nerves refused to transmit the impulse. Jacob walked around the car to stand before still maintaining a reasonable distance between them. Sutton looked him up and down. She still believed that this was all a dream.
Everything about Jacob Mackay had changed. Jacob was too stunned to speak, but her brain didn't hold back in processing the man before her. He had let his hair grow out. The way he clipped the long hair into a tiny ponytail behind him was a sight. The full facial beard he was spotting was so unexpected. Sutton had never seen him in this light before.
