Chapter 21

                    Jacob Mackay

He had woken up early this morning with a lot of thoughts spiralling through his mind. He needed a means to shut the voices that raged within him up, so he opted for a morning run in a more natural setting.

It was a habit. Normally, he would have used the treadmill in the basement of his apartment condo, but somehow, he knew the basement wouldn't cut the antsy way he was feeling today.

The morning dew on the grasses had collected on his shoes and they seeped into his shoes, wetting his feet. He knew what this meant for him. He'd have stinking feet in no time. Jacob pulled out his phone and added the pedicure appointment to his schedule. He'd just have to ask Violet to find a convenient time for it.

Jacob put his phone back into the pocket of his shorts and ran. He loved the way the wind flew past him and the way it slapped his face. The cold seeped into his body through his clothes and burned his lungs.
