Matthew, Rex and Helen were still near the oak tree. Helen was the first to break the silence.
“I miss them. I can’t even tell you how much. But I’ll never see them again.”
“It’s like we still have our consciousness after death. It’s so bizarre, it’s like Armageddon,” said Rex.
“Rex, it’s not like that,” Matthew had to stop him from talking in order to calm Helen. “Helen, you have a life now. That’s priceless. Now, we'll try to make the best of it, all right?”
Helen nodded while sniffing.
Rex turned around when he heard some noises. People were coming near the oak tree again. Matthew wondered why Cryolife wasn’t bigger. In his time, it was a skyscraper. But at that moment, it felt like a health camp.
“Matthew,” shouted Inna, the friendly woman who Matthew met a while ago, while walking towards him. “How are you?” She sounded a little curious. It was because of Helen.
“Hey, Inna. I’m good. What about you?”
“It’s fine,” she showed Helen with her head. “What is happening?”
