"If all the odds seem like not adding up to your liking, you dig for more till you are satisfied with the one. "

The words of her father were forever imprinted in her mind, then locked up in the sands of memories.

Everything was set and planned to the last grain of detail. The only thing left was the will and courage in her bones to make it happen...realize the week-long calculated escapism from her contracted nuptials.

Disobeying the Queen?

In those fifteen years since the last bloody battle of the Decade long War, nobody even dared to think about it...even the very thought was repulsive.

And it was her, none other than the only daughter of the Queen, the Princess to the Throne, who would end up becoming the first one to break it.

No matter how harsh, or impulsive a law was, the habitants of the Great Land of Saunders would owe it up as the divine act sanctioned by the Great Queen...only because nobody, no more wanted another war ever.

It was far better to be trapped beneath the feet of Her Majesty than fight a war against your own people.

The door barged open, making the Princess turn around to face who could it be.

"My Princess, I tried to stop..."

The head maid looked apologetic standing beside the unruly intruder, Lavanya.

Ambrosia nodded at the maid to leave, closing the door behind her. Lavanya entered inside and she could tell the princess was not really looking up for a visitor but it was urgent.

"I have something for you."

"And that could be?"

Ambrosia questioned not at all interested.

Lavanya, without wasting another moment, bought out a red piece of clothing from within her scarf that was wrapped all over her upper body halve to conceal the red piece of clothing in her possession from anyone else.

"What is this?"

Ambrosia asked and Lavanya unfolded the clothe and it turned out to be the most beautiful red cloak one had ever laid their eyes on.

"It is the invisible cloak that..."

"...mortal warrior Karnika wore to the battle."

Ambrosia was quick to cut Lavanya short. She snatched the cloak from her cousin's hold and analyzed the material in sheer shock and excitement.

Mortal warrior Karnika was the only female human to join in the fight for the Decade Long war.

She wore that cloak to land surprise attacks on her enemies on the battleground.

The unbeatable beasts that the Werewolf side had summoned from the Gates of the Moribund land to fight on their behalf and there was no other way to defeat these creatures but to end them without being noticed.

The red cloak of Karnika was used for this purpose. She was unbeatable. It was believed that some witch must have gifted it to her to slay those beasts before it infiltrated the entire earth.

But as all good times shall be confronted by bad times, that it would not be prepared for...all good warriors must live to fight their last battle one day.

She landed her cloak on the leader and Ambrosia remembered that day all too well.

She had escaped meeting her father, whose face she had not seen for months by then and it was in the nickel of time when they ought to be heading for the battleground.

It was the very first time that her father had gotten disappointed in her actions when she was strictly asked to stay out of the marshlands.

Karnika gave her cloak to the father to take his daughter quietly and without anyone's notice out of there, in safety and security.

He wore it and held her up as he took her back to safety. But when he had returned, the heartbreaking news of the mortal warrior's demise circulated all around the place.

Ambrosia always thought that her father would forever hold her accountable for losing a warrior as one like Unbeatable Karnika.

She had not seen the red cloak ever since then. Lavanya could see right through the thoughts in her head.

"No matter how much you act in secrecy, Hamza will come to know what's in the store for the future."

Lavanya added and it made Ambrosia part her eyes from the cloak and look back at the raven-haired vampiress.

She was right to come to that conclusion. Hamza had been suspicious of her since that day he accompanied her to the palace from the Gateed border marking the Capitol.

And he would of course come to know eventually of her plans. But the question was ought to be from where did Lavanya get the cloak?

"It always had been hidden away in the Queen's chambers. "

Even before she could ask, Lavanya let it out. Ambrosia did not even want to know how did she manage to take it out from the hard security that guarded these invaluable items.

"This cloak not only makes you invisible from the eyes of both mortals and immortals alike but also blocks the visionary of many who could see beyond time and space..."

Lavanya added. Ambrosia all of a sudden felt a sense of security in realizing her plans to escape the palace.

Her greatest insecurity was that someday, could be this day or the other when Hamza would come to know and alert the Queen about it.

It would be all useless to pursue this route if such a thing would end up happening because even before she could give life to her thoughts in the head, they would come to know about the future.

No wonder why nobody ever dared to go against the Queen, the almighty, all-powerful Monarch of the Great Land of Saunders...because she would come to know about it all even before thoughts could be turned into action.

"So this will help you as long as you put it on, no one would come to know anything at all, to begin with about you or what you could be thinking of doing..."

Lavanya elaborated. The Princess strode towards the full mirror and hung the cloak over her frame. Lavanya watched her cousin through the reflection.

"So you are all ready to ditch the Prince and your wedding huh?"
