Hiro attended a middle school in Tokyo because the Yagami family lived there.
As his parents thought for his choice of becoming a Basket Ball player, Hiro joined Kamiya Middle School, which was the reigning champion middle school basketball title holders and direct competition for the renowned Haranishi Middle School.
The Haranishi Middle School, is a middle school in Tokyo. Their Sports clubs are particularly strong. They have won a number of championships in a row.
They were the top middle school in Japan when it came to basketball, but that's when Kamiya Middle School made a splash.
The Kamiya Middle School has a strong winning attitude and taught their athletes that winning is important and that losing is unsatisfactory.
Training at Kamiya Middle School was incredibly hard; the school had an excellent coaching staff and motivated players, which kept everyone on their toes and pushed the members to discover methods to enhance their skills.
As Hiro had expected, there were a few senior members of the group he recognised from the competitions held at the camp. They were all in the senior division than him, so Hiro and his team didn't play with them, but he observed them all and became especially enthused about them.
Sano Kojiro, the third year centre, Chiba Yoshinaka, the third year point guard, and Utada Yuki, the second year shooting guard.
For a month at Kamiya, all freshmen were assigned to the third-string. They would be sorted into an appropriate string based on their performance, and when the day arrived for re-sorting, the results were personally announced by the head coach.
Whatever the case may be, the division is currently taking place...
"Foooo!" As the list for the first string was announced, a whistle blew. That was mostly for the purpose of indicating the next name to be called.
"Finally, Yagami Hiro for the first string. That's all there is to it; get back to your practice." Just as he finished, the head coach blew a loud whistle and dismissed everyone else in the place.
Everyone in the gym was staring at Hiro, who had been the only freshman to make it to the first-string immediately following the transitional period in the previous few years.
Not to mention, most of the girls in the school were all googling and shouting at Hiro because of his handsome figure.
However, the intensity of first-string training was significantly higher than that of third-string, especially when combined with fitness activities, and the Calisthenics exercises he learned last year were perfect for his age and body.
After all, his parents are very severe in these areas.
Hiro's decision to begin an aerobic and strength regimen was motivated by a study in bodybuilding that demonstrated the importance of core strength, which was that if you worked your muscles once, even if you lost the muscle once, it would be easier to bulk up the next time, and the maximum amount of muscle memory could be accumulated during adolescence and youth. So, Hiro decided to start early for the safety and conditioning of his body.
Hiro had joined the first-string, but he was not a regular and sat on the bench. The coach had directed him to participate in second-string practice games in order to obtain additional experience. It was because of an important reason, Hiro has stated his desire to play the position of point guard to the head coach, and he just wanted to improve this young lad's skills with the second string before, not messing up with the first string's regulars.
Hiro liked playing with the second-string since the players on the team were far more skilled than the people he played with at basketball camp. His assists were worth more points since his teammates were able to make more skilled baskets.
Hiro relished the sensation of finding the ideal beat in the form of teamwork. The thought of being able to make his teammates perform better than they normally do was pure ecstasy.
Hiro's coach spotted him staring intently at the first-string players during the short breaks between practises, so he decided to ask what he was doing.
When he noticed him, he approached him and inquired, "Yagami-kun, why do you continuously staring at other members? Is there a problem?" with a perplexed grin
"No Coach, I only want to play as a point guard on the team, which means I'd be in charge of making call-shots,"Hiro responded softly." As a result, I should be aware of my teammates strengths and weaknesses! Haha!"
Hiro had discovered another means to use his photographic Memory, which allowed him to learn any move he wanted to learn after only watching it once, which meant that if he used it on his teammates, he would know how they played, which translated into knowing all of their strengths and weaknesses. He could optimise his play-making to the greatest extent feasible by combining this knowledge with the quickness and reflexes offered by his speed Impulse.
Hiro's willingness to play the game he loved the most stunned the Coach, prompting the Coach to reply, "haha!! That is great reasoning. Yagami-kun, based on your performance in second-string practise matches as well as in in-house matches, I'd place you in the forthcoming first-string training match for a quarter, and if you perform well, you might even become a regular soon." with a grin
Hiro couldn't be happier, as he confidently said, "Yes sir, I will not fail you."
Hiro turned his head and stared at the regulars on the first-string just as they both smiled.
Center, Sano Kojiro, Senior. Point Guard, Chiba Yoshinaka, Senior. Shooting Gaurd, Utada Yuki, Junior. Power Forward, Arai Goro, Junior.
Hiro decided to go for the position of small forward because he had the skills to play the position and could just make plays while doing small forward duties, and the next year he would assume the point guard position when Chiba-senpai graduated.
Hiro looked up to them all because they were all wonderful in their own ways. Not only that, he aspired to outperform them and become unstoppable.
Hiro was aware that if he tried, he could seize the point guard position for himself, but there was no need for it, as he wasn't the kind to flaunt himself, nor did he like to stir trouble within his team after all .
Hiro was excited for his first game with the first team.
"I only hope that one day I will be the best basket ball player in the whole world!" As the legend he was going to create.
