chapter 3 anti-heros.

Within the novel genre there are many diffrent variations of heros and one of the prevalent is the subject of the Anti hero.

The anti hero by basic understanding a hero that goes out on their story with a difference compared with other hero stories, where the difference is that the difference is either dark themed in nature or as an ostracised person from a collective.

the anti-hero genre itself can be split further into two separate categories;

The good natured but forced antihero,

An intentinal antihero,

For the first category of the good natured but forced antihero it usually starts by introducing the hero as either a person with good morals or someone who seems average moral wise but gets delt a bad hand at the start of their journey forcing them to go on a differentpath than they wished.

The introduction of the conflicting personality from an intended anti hero makes it so the reader can invision themself in the character and possibly understand the struggles they have to face which leads to them having either their morals broken or muted for their survival in such a new scenario.

The second category is for those characters who are intentionally made to be an antihero, being an antihero in itself is a fine line if you follow the first category between the morality of their actions and their survival but with the second category its more to create a powerful entity who seems unhindered by the rules and follows their own path.

The second category in itself is a depiction of a power fantasy where it follows the rule of "the ends justifies the means" this is usually shown in stories when the anti hero does good in the end but commits acts of evil to reach that goal, the reader would follow this flow of moral ambiguity since they will wish to be in the place of the antihero to escape form the moral norms of society.

For the subject of anti-heros in many cases they will correlate with the forms above but in some cases it can follow a path between the two categories usually starting as the grist before transitioning to the latter.
