Cute Lunch Moment

We didn't go to the cafeteria to get food, instead, Tochaki-san seemed to have already prepared food at home and brought it to school. We found a bench that was in a place where no one was present and sat down.

"Dear, I prepared lunch for you!"

She took out two lunch boxes and gave one of them to me. I opened up the box and it was filled with stuff we usually eat at home. There were eggs, sausages, rice, and hamburger steak. Everything in it looks delicious.

"Wow. Thank you Tochaki-san. It looks very tasty."

Her face lit up as I praised her.

"That makes me happy dear. Now please, let me know how it tastes."

I picked up one of the sausages with a chopstick and fed it to myself. It was bursting with flavor. It was incredibly good.

"It seems tasty! I did good then!"

"When did you have the time to learn how to cook?"

"I was slaving in the kitchen most of the time while we weren't together. I wanted to get good at cooking…"

"Is it the same reason you couldn't tell me back during the time of the culture festival?"

It seemed I hit the jackpot because immediately her face became red.

"Yea…"

"Could you tell me the reason now?"

She was fidgeting but didn't refuse my question.

"...The reason is really boring though…"

"Anything boring that comes from Tochaki-san won't ever be boring in my heart."

"Is that your way of complimenting me?"

She was pouting in a sarcastic way and I didn't know what I said wrong. 

"...I just want to make food that you would like… isn't it normal for a boy's girlfriend to cook for him…?"

"It is and I am happy about it. But we weren't dating back then, so were you planning on cooking for me before we dated?"

She was acting cute and embarrassed again.

"...I was… but dear, do you know when my heart was stolen by you? The day I fell for you?"

Why was she asking such a weird question. But regardless, if I have to guess…

"Was it the time I got you a Christmas present?"

Although she was showing a cute look, she was also smiling and her cheeks were red.

"Dear… the day my life was saved by you was the same day I fell in love for the first time."

The day I saved her… that was the first time I ever talked to her right?

"The day I saved you…"

"Yes dear… it was that day I knew I met the one. As we spent more time together I fell more and more in love… I was scared to confess so I tried making you confess to me instead but after dancing with you on a big stage, my heart couldn't take it anymore. The feelings I tried to suppress can't be contained anymore… I just had to express my love directly…"

My heart is yet again, hit directly by a love arrow. Damn you Tochaki-san. You say cute things out of nowhere and make my heart race! 

"Tochaki-san… sorry for making you wait so long then. I ignored how you felt so you had to endure with my incompetence for such a long time."

"Its alright dear… my wish finally came true now."

"Your wish?"

"Yes. Remember when we went to the shrine during new years? I kept my wish a secret because I was embarrassed but my wish was for us to be together forever."

"I'm sure that wish has always been true. I have no reason to separate from you after you and Tokita-san offered to take care of me."

"Then I guess I got more than I asked for."

"You're a weird girl for falling for someone like me."

She pouted and slapped my arm lightly. She hates it when I put myself down. But she smiled at me again and put her hands on my shoulder. She then connected her forehead to mine.

"Then I'll gladly be the weird girl who fell in love with someone like you. If there is only one person in the whole universe who fell in love with you, that person would be me everytime. If there is no one in this universe that loves you… I do not exist in any of them."

She indirectly declared her love for me once again. So I need to reciprocate it.

"And if there is anyone who will make you fall in love… it will be me in every universe. If you don't ever fall in love, then I do not exist in any of them."

She was acting really cute and was happy that her feelings were returned to her by me. I have to make her happy at all cost. 

"This is why I fell in love with you. Someone who is willing to date a girl who wants a lot of attention."

"If you know your own problems you should try to fix them."

"Dummy… this trait is the reason I can charm you and make you fall for me. If anything, I'm glad I have this problem."

That was true. Her attention wanting trait for comfort from her loved one is a good reason why I even fell in love with her.

"Well regardless… I was happy that you said the food I cook tastes good. It means I didn't spend hours in the kitchen practicing for no reason…"

"Then please Tochaki-sama, would you cook for me again tomorrow?"

She smiled at me while giving me a bashful look.

"Of course. I plan on doing this for a long time…"

"Even after marriage?"

"M-m-ma-ma-marr-marriage?!"

Her face was more red than before and I've never seen her this embarrassed and frantic before. I couldn't help it but laugh a little.

"Just kidding."

She pouted at me and her ocean blue eyes had a bit of tears in them. She leaned into my arms and hugged it while acting angry.

"Dear… please don't tease me…"

"I'm sorry, but your bashful face is something so precious that I just had to see it."

"Dummy… but yes."

"Yes?"

"I'll continue to cook for you… when we get married someday."

I stared into her eyes and couldn't speak. It is this side of her that I love about. She would say something so unbelievably cute that I have no words to describe how lucky I am as a man.

Tochaki-san looked at me again with a confused expression.

"Dear? Are you alright?"

"Uhh. yeah. Let's eat shall we? Class is about to start!"

I changed the subject and we ate our lunch before returning to our own classrooms.
