Smilers :)

Entering an elevator, Thomas placed his side of the Engine part on the ground, together with Alan and Marvin while the woman followed them inside and leaned her smooth body, with slight signs of sweat, against the right side of the elevator, pressing one of the buttons present.

The elvator was big enough to contain eight people inside and when Thomas asked if it's safe, the three assured him that the elevators are the safest place in level one, right after their and M.E.G's base of course. So Thomas entered and now, all four of them are reaching the Sector B.

"So Smilers huh, how can we kill them? " Thomas asked, looking at the woman that turned and smiled.

"You can't~" she said while pulling out a bottle of almond water.

"At least not with normal guns. All you can do is run or fight with weapons designed by M.E.G or yourself. These creatures can't be killed by normal bullets... you need something like this," the woman pulled out a shotgun shell from her belt pocket but the round was not red like the normal ones. This shell was blue and M.E.G. symbol was painted on it.

"How special are these? " Thomas handed the shell back to the woman who started loading them into her weapon.

"The round you had in your hand can produce a beam of light so strong that it can hurt those creatures. As you may know, smilers don't have a body humans can see, but we know they really hate light." Alan spoke, then added: "So therefore, The M.E.G. is working on weapons that can hurt these creatures by producing blinding light. Take this and use it if they come too close to you."

"A flash Granates? " Thomas asked as he took from Marvin's hand something resembling flash granates that too had The M.E.G. symbol painted on their covers.

"Not normal granates. These are an improved verion of flash granates that will have the same effect as the shotgun shells. These are the basic ones but enhanced can kill hordes of those creatures..." Alan stoped talking as the elevator doors suddenly opened and only darkness can be seen in front of them.

"But,": Thomas looked at the woman: "I though you said we can't kill them."

The woman mischievously smiled at him and answered:

"I said you can't. I never said WE can't," then the woman pointed to the doors and spoke:

"Welcome in Sector B, Thomas Parker," with a wide smile and reloded her shotgun.

"Why do I feel I'm going to regret comming with you," Thomas spoke while putting two granates into his right pocket and turned behind where all he got was understanding gazes and smiles of Alan and Marvin.

"Come on guys, we need to move! " the woman spoke as the three grabed the big engine part and started quickly walking out from the elevator, with their flasflights on, towards the woman who was leading them through the eternal darkness.

The entire sector B was an open place with pillars coming from the ground towards the ceiling, each having 5 meter distance from the previous one.

A deep silence, except their silent steps and sounds of the enigne part was all the four explorers were hearing.

"This is weird... we should have already encounter at least one Smiler... Where are the creatures? " commented Marvin but somehow they were all glad nothing was after them.

After few minutes of walking, they placed the engine part on the ground and rested their backs against it, with deep sightes of tiredness while the woman was looking around.

"Shit... why is it so heavy! " Alan spoke and pulled out his almond water, giving some to Marvin and Thomas who then opened a bag of Beef Jerky and shared them with the group.

"How much? " Thomas asked, chewing and the woman replayed: "We are half the way towards an exit. After section B, there is a Section C where our base is. When we get there, you and Alan will wait at the entrance while me and Marvin will go to the base for help."

"What entities are there? "

"It's clear, no entities are there so you don't need to fear anything."

"Alright, fine by me... What about you Alan? "

"I feel the same, you are a good man Thomas," Alan replayed as they shook their hands and all three get up from the ground.

"Alright then, now we should-" *BOOOM

"..."

"What the fuck was that? " the woman spoke turning herself around.

"What is that? " Thomas pointed to the side as thousands of little white lights in the great distance were comming their way.

"SMILERS! " the woman shouted as the three man quickly turned, took their things and backpacks from the ground and started running with the engine part towards a place where the woman was leading them.

Each time Thomas turned, the lights were closer and closer as he can now clearly see their smiling features in the deep darkness with still some distance.

"Move, move, move," the men were cheering themselfs while running with the heavy piece of metal structure, feeling their muscles like they were tearing themselves appart.

"It's there! " the woman pointed to a green sign showing EXIT but something wasn't right.

Approaching the door, the ground started cracking and when the woman open the door, only void greeted her with a single shining doors at the end of it.

Through the void let a thin line of previous ground wide around 5 meters and long about 40 meters.

"THE PREVIOUS EXIT SI GONE?! " the woman started panicing and aimed her shotgun at the hords of Smilers approaching them.

Firing two rounds that exploded in the air, shining white light enveloped the group and some place around them, giving them some time before the smilers will truly reach them.

"What now? " Alan asked as he watched the quickly approaching hordes of smilers.

"We will cross," Thomas spoke and tried the stability of the way. The entire way looked from bellow like a bridge and in the middle it was thinest.

"Are you nuts? " Marvin said.

"We need to, if two are in the front and two on the end, we can cross." Thomas spoke then added: "Marvin, Alan you go first. Me and uhhh you, we will go behind you."

"Fine but if I die, I'll take you with me Thomas! " Marvin spoke and grabed with Alan their side of the piece of Engine while smiling Thomas grabed his and went after them with the woman following them.

Closing the door behind as the light from the shotgun rounds started slowly dying: "Guys, we need to move faster," the woman spoke as the smilers slowly reached the door and started smashing their limbs against them angrily.

"Try it woman! " Thomas answered as they reached the middle of the bridge and the doors flew open.

*BOOOOM

Immediately, thousands of smilers started running after them, few even falled down into the void.

"Go! I'll buy us as much time as we need," said the woman and stood firmly in the middle of the bridge, shooting one Smiler after other, sending them down to the void while the three ran with the engine part to the shining door.

When they reached the door, Marvin opened them and went in with Alan and the engine part.

"Come Thomas! "

"Go, I'll catch up with you," he said and started running towards the woman.

Pulling out the flash granates from Marvin, he tied them together with a piece of yellow string he took from the handle of his knife.

"What are you doing- FUCK! " the woman wanted to say something but quickly turned to the front and looked at her shotgun that suddenly got stuck as Smilers ran towards her.

"RUN! " Thomas shouted as he approached the woman quickly and threw his ticking double-granate towards the horde, pulled out the Makarov and shooted the granate as the woman passed him.

The granate exploded in blinding light, killing the closest Smilers and sending a big shockwave all around the place.

The woman jumped as the shockwave sended her right to the door but Thomas falled from the blinding explosion on the ground as the bridge under him started cracking and falling into the void!

"Thomas, RUN! " Marvin shouted while Alan helped the woman get up.

Thomas got up from the ground with painfull expresion and bleeding leg and started running slowly as the ground under his feet started quickly falling down to the void.

"MOVE THOMAS! " Alan shouted too but then, something no one from them expected happened as Thomas' injured leg something grabed from the void and pulled him down into the darkness before he had time to reach the door or Marvin's extended hand.

"THOMAS!!!!! " all three shouted in unision as Thomas falled into the void with something around his leg, holding him firmly.

"FUCK! " Marvin said and got up as Alan slamed his fist against the door.

"First Jake, then Aron and now even Thomas! WHY?! " Alan was pretty frustrated, punching the door while the woman was drowned deep in her mind.

'He came for me... He died because of me... Why he just didn't left me there? Why he left the save zone and helped me? Why he? ' The woman looked painfully at the last remnants of the falling bridge as a small tear falled down her cheek.

'Why when I find someone interesting he dies because of me?! '

"We need to go... The Level is changing it's- Jess? Jessica are you with us? " Marvin said and touched her shoulder as Alan slamed his fist against the door for the last time and started paying his attention back to the group.

"Ohh, sorry," *Sniff, "Yeah, we need to go..." Jessica replayed as the three started walking towards their base with the Engine part while negative and sad atmosphere was hanging above them all the way.
