As I killed the ninth batch of goblins, which consisted of goblins wearing mithril armors and were equipped with stronger magic weapons. Of course, I defeated him rather easily, but the tenth batch of goblins really took me by surprise.
Hobgoblins.
They were larger than the other goblins I've fought before, almost at human-level height. They carried magical weapons and were equipped with magical armor. There were 10 of them, equipped with that from head to toe… how?? Does the sect have that much resources to waste on these monsters? I don't get it. Something is wrong here, something feels off about all this.
"Kurraaaahh!" They all screeched loudly, almost making me deaf.
Annoyed, I flicked my hand and cut them all to pieces with my scythe.
Slowly, their body parts fell, revealing a bloody mess. The hobgoblins' corpses disappeared, but the equipment didn't.
Even though I'm not proficient with the use of scythe, I still know how to kill my opponents with it.
Looking around, I saw many pieces of equipment from leather to magic scattered around. These armors and weapons were dropped by those goblins, which means I can loot them!
I took every equipment they dropped to my storage ring, even the leather ones. You don't know when these things will come in handy in the future!
"Partner, why are you hoarding these things? Are you perhaps a hoarder?" Partner asked.
I nodded, and said, "Yeah, perhaps. It's not like they're unusable. A person with the brain of a monkey will have the common sense to loot these. These things are precious, you know?" I said to educate this pleb. If something is free, then take it, as long as it doesn't have any long-lasting consequences.
"Well, if you say so. But why the leather armors also? Aren't they useless?" My partner asked.
"Tsk, tsk, you still have a long way to go, partner. These leather armors don't have any metal in them, which means they are not conductible. And, they are quite thick, almost resembling jackets, which means it may help me stay warm in the cold. And, if a situation comes where I don't have any flammables and my location is cold, I can use these to start a fire and warm myself! Leather has so many uses!" I parted my knowledge to this pleb, with divine wisdom that comes from the sages.
"Okay…" Partner muttered, speechless because of my divine parting of knowledge.
Alright, enough bullsh*t.
A door appeared at the end of the arena a moment ago, which might lead to the second floor of the tower.
I opened the door, and saw a ladder going down.
I looked at my weapon, and said, "Can you somehow shrink yourself? If not, I might have to put you inside my storage ring." Since he's sentient and intelligent, Thanatos might feel uncomfortable inside my storage ring since time inside there is a bit funky, so to speak.
"Of course, who do you think I am? The mighty Thanatos can do almost anything!" The scythe shrunk itself to a smaller scythe resembling that of a farmer's scythe.
I went down the ladders, and landed in a similar arena like the last one.
And, as soon as I stepped foot on the arena, I heard a roar.
"Raaaaaaaahh!"
A humanoid tiger stood a few meters away from me. Orange fur, green sharp eyes, long tail, and sword-like eyebrows. Yet, even when it was humanoid, I saw no intelligence In its eyes, only pure beastly rage.
'A weretiger, huh? Didn't know they had something like that in the sect,' I wondered in my thoughts.
*Woosh* *Woosh* *Woosh*
I wasted no time as I released three large fireballs towards it, burning it to ashes almost instantly.
Weretigers usually live in lands with higher temperature, and they do not exist in the Bronze Continent. Some hot countries in the Silver Continent have weretigers in them, but there are only a few of them in the world.
The weretiger dropped nothing, which disappointed me a bit, and I went on to defeat more of them. They were on the same level always, it's just that the more I defeated them, the more their numbers increased.
(Moments Later)
Like with the goblins earlier, the "fight" ended when the tenth batch of weretigers were defeated by me.
Weak, but I know better than that. I need to be cautious if I want to reach the deepest part of this tower.
A door appeared, and when I opened it, another ladder going down was behind it.
As I climbed down the ladder, I heard the tutorial bot say; [It took me a moment to realize what this is and where we are, Auguste]
'What is it?' I asked.
[This place is a naturally formed dungeon, not a man-made underground tower! Either those people lied to you, or we are in a completely different place. I should've noticed it earlier, but when you entered that golden gate, you were teleported to somewhere else! This is not the sect's Beast Tower; this is a dungeon! A small dungeon, but a dungeon nonetheless!]
Ah, sh*t…
(30 Minutes Later)
I breezed through the first 10 floors, and I was now on the eleventh floor.
I was a bit nervous going through the floors since, you know, I've been kidnapped!
This is nothing short of kidnap!
I went back to the first floor, only to see the door leading outside gone! And, not only that, I don't know any way out!
Thanatos decided to calmly tell me that if I reached the deepest part of this *dungeon*, I might be able to find an exit in this place.
The rank battles are in a week from now, mind you, and this is the worst situation for me at the moment.
Defeating another batch of minotaurs, I kept going. I cannot stop now. If I'm late from the rank battles a week from now, I'll lose my discipleship with my master. And, it's not every day you get a dragon as your master!
Guys, please drop some power stones if you like my novel. I really need it since my novel depends on the rankings, and the rankings depends on the power stones given by my readers.
And, I cannot earn any money unless I enter the top 100, which is a 1000 miles stone from me.
But anyway, thank you for reading, as always.
